Euro 2012 - Switzerland & England in the same qualifying group

I think this is a good chance to see England (and Wales) live in Switzerland.

Cheers,

Re: Euro 2012 - Switzerland & England in the same qualifying group

Here are the full group lists:

Euro 2012 (Group G: England, Wales, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Montegro)

And the dates to put in your diaries to watch the matches (or avoid if that is your wish)

Match dates Who is playing on each date should be confirmed within the next month.

I read this

Swiss v England. Let's hope Frei doesn't gob at Gerrard again. Great to go back to Millennium Cardiff - far better atmosphere than Wembley
and was reminded of the constant whining on EF with people calling Switzerland Swiss

England Draw Switzerland in Euro 12 Qualifying

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/8500038.stm

and the welsh. Derbies all round!

Not the easiest group but it could have been a lot worse.

England to qualify at a canter I would say.

I gather that your statement is on the basis that the first two go into the next round and England will be second after Switzerland

No, it is because being netural about absolutely everything except stashing dodgy money, switzerland will be going for a draw in every game whereas we will attempt to win some (because of the crusades, naturally). Therefore we will finish above them.

Thats logic at work for you!

Date:Tue 7 Sep 2010
Kick off: 8:45 PM
Venue:St Jakob Park

This is a week after I get to Switzerland! Would love to go but realistically I think I'll be finding somewhere to watch it nearer to Lausanne.

The English FA only sell tickets to registered fans too, ever since a buch of nobheads smashed up French cafés in '98.

Re: Euro 2012 - Switzerland & England in the same qualifying group

Not sure. I did a quick google and there are people selling them but at 300-400 euro... After England's performance at the World Cup I might be happy to pay 10% of that!

I looked into this a couple of weeks ago and you could still get tickets in the Swiss part for a jaw dropping chf 270. as has been said tickets in the England end are a no go unless you are registered with the FA at a cost of £75, but registration is only valid for future fixtures and even if you could buy them the ticket price is on top. all a little rich for my blood tbh.

I understand you have to buy a "package" for both Swiss games against England and Wales. You cannot just get e ticket for the England game.

Any Taffs out there want to do a deal?

Re: Euro 2012 - Switzerland & England in the same qualifying group

So do any football watching EF'ers in the Montreux, Vevey, Lausanne kind of area fancy meeting up for this game?

Or if you're not around, can anybody recommend somewhere that I can watch it and hopefully bump into a few like minded football lovers?

I would make an event calendar entry but I have no idea of possible venues at the moment.

Re: Euro 2012 - Switzerland & England in the same qualifying group

Sorry, just saw this thread. We've had a bit of back and forth here:
http://www.englishforum.ch/sale-want...d-v-wales.html

Also, I found tickets at not so awful prices (and for non-EnglandfanGold members) at ticket corner:
http://www.ticketcorner.ch/emqualifi...from=erdetaila

Previous poster was correct about the package 'deal,' however. Would be please to part with my pair of Wales match seats, to a good home, of course.

Re: Euro 2012 - Switzerland & England in the same qualifying group

hi there,
I got a ticket to the england game, sitting close to england fan side (zones B1-B4). My ticket is in B5, so at least i can almost be part of action. Only FA registered fans in b1-b4.
anyone else going from EF from Zurich, or Basel who want to meet up for a drink before the game?
Ill be coming from Zurich.
