although if the NZ striker would have made his shot ( Woodson?) that would have made the game pretty brilliant.

Why can't the English breed goalies any more?

1. Gordon Banks
3. Peter Shilton
9. Ray Clemence
Perhaps, as England goalkeepers, they have more practice |

This list is very much daily mail... complete rubbish. I know I said it before, but: England did not win anything since 1966, so it is very unlikely that the players they had were the best... otherwise they would not lose.
Just one example of a keeper they forgot in that list... |

Indeed some very fine saves - except of course for the cases where the player failed to provide enough lift, or shot it straight into his chest, or simply missed.

french have really a bad press today. After the surrealistic strike of their team, the referee of Brazil-Côte d'Ivoire game made bad decisions: giving Kaka the 2nd yellow card and also not refusing the 2nd brazilian hand-made goal |

This red card was really dirty, the referee had no control over the Ivorians, he should have showed some red cards to them before. any way for good Brazil won.

For sure, this was the worst referee of the world cup. He should have show a red card to the guys who crack Elano just after he made the third goal of Brazil. Now I hope Brazil will appeal to FIFA get Kaka back for the next matches.

Are you nuts??? Kaka was not even looking when Keita ran into HIM. And nothing touched his face...disgraceful. Too much diving from both teams.
And Fabiano...did Maradona's 'Hand of God' attach itself to Fabiano's arm? How could the ref miss twice...
ah well...more drama on the pitch.

Kaka did not deserve the card.
Btw coming back to England I think all the media/public drama is overblown. First the media builds them up and makes them out to be 100 times better than what they actually are and then shoots them down. I guess people like all the drama
English team tried their best and it was not good enough. Every team that is in SA has qualified on merit. So yes Algeria might not be Brazil but they are not a school team either.
In the past I used to dislike Rooney but in recent years I have warmed up to him and actually feel sorry for him now. Hopefully England will win their next match and move forward. If they don't then so be it.....it's not a matter of life and death.
