You'd think that with the rolling on the ground and clutching of their heads, the players obviously think its death

Sadly thats just the mark of a desperate team... Ivory Coast really lost it last night, they got too frustrated and the discipline was shocking.

If I had to mete out punishment to the ref and the IC player who caused Kaka a red card, it'd be this: Make them pick up Kaka's kaka with Robi-bags.

If it came to a coin toss between NZ and Italy (if they drew their next matches respectively), that'd be so unfair. Wish they could do a penalty kick contest, haha.
You just know that if it was a drawn pots scenario that Italy would some how emerge as the one to go through. My dislike of FIFA grows more and more everyday.

The Italian penalty was not a penalty it was a dive.

Technology is needed in football for at least goal related important decisions.

Even the staid gentlemenly sports of cricket and tennis have adopted technology and few can argue the impact has been anything but positive. The problem with Fifa is they use the referees to influence games so any 'objective' technology would throw out their ability to rig games in their favour....

Exactly if a traditional and superior sport like cricket can use it then there is no excuse for a peasant sport like football to not introduce technology

You are right it's harder to cook the result if technology is used. FIFA is corrupt.

I disagree, For better or worse, Football shouzld be a reflection of life. If you can get away with an offside, 'hand' or wathever then that's life. It will be remembered later for the infamy that it was.

Rain spoiling the match but making it interesting. Both teams attacking. Btw N.Korean players look very serious to me in general. Must be tough for them back home.

It's going to be a lot tougher for them when they get home. It's currently 7.0 to Portugal.

Cricket score.

On a side note, its a shame Coca-Cola didn't replay this ad from the 2006 WM.

Re: 2010 World Cup actual match discussion here (all matches)

It was raining goals

Swiss commentator was saying that some of the N.Korean players play outside N.Korea so I was wondering if they get to keep their wages? OR does KIM keep it for himself?

7:0 = the whole N.Korean defecting?

A nice summary of the problems with the Brazil match-- from both sides-- and the failure of FIFA here and elsewhere when it comes to poor decisions from the refs:

In Brazil's Victory, Not all is Sweet
