Hope Hitzfeld brings in Derdiyok soon. He's key.

A few players have been penalised for using their elbows.

Perhaps they could be co-opted by some British 'Free School' would-be-founders.

Is the referee in the Switzerland-Chile match biased against Switzerland?

Just watching the SWi V CHI match and wondered why are some players such bad sports?
The lightest touch on the other teams player results in them making the most outrageous reactions just to obtain a foul.
It makes the game laughable.

Totally agree. FIFA needs to make a stance, esp with that ivory coast player. 2-3 games like rivaldo would stamp it out pretty quickly

He's just been awful. You've seen players on both sides frustrated with the way the game has been called throughout.

To be honest Swiss were too happy to draw and that's why they lost.
Chile made a lot more attacks.

Was not my fault, I swear!
Everything was going fine, then I went to the lady's room and when I returned the goal had been made

Switzerland did a good job though, being one fewer.

I disagree, For better or worse, Football shouzld be a reflection of life. If you can get away with an offside, 'hand' or wathever then that's life. It will be remembered later for the infamy that it was.
In 'life', rather than football, authorities wouldn't trust a single (biased) witness, there might be CCTV evidence and there'd be an appeals process.

With just 10 men, you've not much choice but to defend like mad and hope for a break once in a while.

Point being, If you can't get away with it, so be it. You didn't put collecting fingerprints from the ball as evidence.

FIFA seem to be one of the last sporting bodies to resist video adjudication. It would clean up the game.

I guess he meant that is the standard operation procedure for the Swiss team - we always play like that

Wish they'd done more with the last chance... such nice play in front of the other goal but the ball has to go in the net...

I could watch those Portuguese goals all day. Much as I dislike Ronaldo, at least he fed his teammates before he ate.
