in short, your observations would have been correct before 1925
| | | | |
ja ja ja ja, tell it to Simon Kuper, whom I am sure you have observed wrote the article (and not me) and who might actually care about Swiss football trivia. I just shared it because, whether factually right or not, it was topical and pretty funny - especially for the FT.

A German colleague sent me a meeting invite for 4pm, fully knowing that I was going to be watching the match.... is there no end to the dirty tricks?

Well hopefully you will be able to get your revenge if we get to take on Germany. I am in Malta at the moment and the whole island has erupted (well, not literally) as they are so pro England - very refreshing! |

Thank feck a good match for England, needed more goals but they battered Slovenia.
Would be nice to see the Rooney I remember from the last 4 years of Premiership football but I happy to see Gerrard playing well at last.
I hate Terry but I can forgive any thing when a footballer on the floor tries to stop a goal by launching his head at the ball.

TBH Ghana looked like the better side for most of this game.
BTW Until when is Klose suspended?

It makes Rooney's shot on the post even more frustrating: Potentially England could get Germany then Argentina while the USA will potentially get Ghana then Uruguay or South Korea.

Up to now it all went like 2006... when Germany went just through after a lost game against Croatia. And then: |

The 2nd half of the Australia v Serbia game was amazing! If you think about it the socceroos probably would have qualifed for the next round if our two best players hadn't of been needlessly red carded. Happy though that we saw Serbia out and in the process allowed an African country though.... PROUD TO BE AN AUSTRALIAN!!!!!

I honestly think the best thing to come from todays 3 Lions win is the frotthy mouth enthusiasm from Cappello. Good to see the man fire up, so sweet when he said post match "this is the team I know..."
