yes of course - but the next step would be to reduce the playing content to an analysis of geometrical moves - before you know it these things will be bi-directional and tell the players which way to move to intercept the ball or the player. OK a little in the future but that is the direction these things always head. IIRC quarterbacks have headsets in their helmets, you could probably do this now within the rules of American football

Sure, overhead video analysis could be introduced for offside - but then it would be for offside only. Then you need a ball for the Master Lampards of this world, then you need an Schwalben-Detektor and what have you.

Sorry, but what are the expectations? There are plenty of good teams that did not even qualify... and Nigeria is not exactly a candidate for the title. (You know, not like the title defending Italians or former runners' up, France...) So making the qualification is in itself and achievement.

And why do politicians this year all get their fingers into the game? If a national coach would decide to skip a tournament would be one thing, a president should be worried about other issues. Especially a president of a country like Nigeria.
