You have obviously no idea what you are talking about: The Netherlands have a long history of playing very well in the World and European championships (but they always lose in the semi-finals). So often that clear rivalries could develop:

Isn't more like "Nobody likes the germans"?

Neither the dutch nor the argentinians.

A line up of the 32 National football coaches taking part in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and their gross annual incomes.

1. Fabio Capello, England: 8.800.000 €
2. Marcelo Lippi, Italy : 3.000.000 €
3. Joachim Loew, Germany :2.500.000 €
Well this explains why the english FA has chosen not to fire Capello.
What it doesn't explain is why Capello hasn't offered his resignation.

That is why I admire Kevin Keegan, he is one of the few people in world football to have a sense of honour.

3 - 0! Way to go Germany! Another great team led to the slaughter house by this young team.

I can assure you that the German-Dutch relationship is very different. The Dutch are for Germany what the English think they are: The number one opponent - the only "classic" match in a tournament. The English are more considered a "victim" than an opponent...

Germany and Argentina actually like and respect each other, both teams usually win games not by playing "mooi" or a "joga bonito", but through endurance and strength. I have not seen much of any today though... that was a clear win without any large ref mistake or blatantly unfair play. Mooi!

Re: 2010 World Cup actual match discussion here (all matches)

Germany has a clear tactic: make first goal and then the other team makes pressure, so they retreat and prepare for very fast counterattacks with their 3 famous forwards. As soon as the other team gives up defence, they start countnterattacks.
whoever wants to beat them needs to do same tactic, so make first goal. Serbia did this and succeeded.

Villa: Can you hear me?!!!?

Who are you calling 'amateur'? And with what justification?
African national teams are not yet as professional as south Americans(no matter if some of their players play abroad).

1. One of their "famous" forwards played only one year ago in the third league in front of a small four digit number of viewers.... and the other two had terrible seasons at their clubs.

2. The counter attack was the tactic in the England match. Today the goals were actually not at all quick counter attacks with the exception of the 4th one: In the first three, the game was never quick and there were never few players in Argentinas box... I recognized that they never made a single distance shot - or any decent shot at all: their strategy was a classic "box overload" with somebody pushing the ball over the line rather than shooting from a "normal distance"- definitely not a counter attack.

Here are the highlights... what do you think?

If England and Argentina were not behind and instead of rushing to make at least a goal and so giving up defence , played normal, germany couldn't score that many goals.

they werent, both played crap football, got 4 goals and are out of the tournament. if you like it or not. its no news that the ARG defense is very bad, their achilles heel. you could see it when Schweinsteiger slalomed into the box or when Podolski crossed to Klose. both goals no counter attacks, by the way. and if you defend Messi right...ARG has trouble developping any pressure. he was not one game in that tournament.

i hoped we will play Paraguay as Spain is a more compact team, has great defense, very good midfielders...last night they played their worst game. so they´re beatable. gonna be a good game on wed night...

Spain don't have a hope in hell - if the Swiss can beat them so can Germany. Lowe will have done the planning.

Several things have occured to me - a lot of German pressure arises from speed - they cut through rather than push back, secondly in the period the argies controlled the game they were very nervous and made many unforced errors - what are they going to do when these players begin to mature?
