I wonder how many on this forum will be supporting Switzerland in the World cup.

One points this out because there are so many people on here that state they should integrate and be patriotic to the country they live in.

So when Switzerland meet up with the UK, USA, Australia, NewZealand, South Africa etc. who will we be supporting?

Switzerland's first game is on Wednesday evening against Spain.
I wonder how many of us will even be watching the game?
Post needs a poll

Edit: Actually it needs two polls

Re: 2010 World Cup actual match discussion here (all matches)

Fantastic game of the Germans. Bit too harsh with the red card, but hey... they wouldn't have turned the game with or without their superman.

I'll be watching the Swiss-Spain one and actually cheering for the Swiss, however I feel like they'll lose this one miserably. But hey..... you never know.

In the end, it doesn't matter! The ball is round, a game is 90-odd minutes and Germany wins

Simples.

Yes, but the defeat would not have been so crushing and humiliating.

Landesmuseum on saturday night. Full of english fans in replica shirts, flags, even painted heads.

The bars - empty.

The toilets - two.

The fans - silent.

The atmosphere - $h!t.

The number of english - 2. Alright, 3. Maybe.

I got told if I carried on making so much noise, I would be asked to leave.

Ha ha ha.

What ifs are stupid, especially in football. If Germany would have made all their chances it would have been 8-0.

If we didnt butcher a chance in the 3rd minute it would be 0-1 as well right?

You can get 300-1 against Switzerland to be outright winners. Bit of a shame their first game is against Spain.

Exactly. The best team can lose. I took the 300-1 on offer and put €10 on Switzerland because, as you say, anything can happen.

What Green did last night was inexcusable. He knelt down casually to take the ball and it rolled out of his hands! I know this stuff can happen but only because you loose concentration for a second. But at a World Cup? Seriously dodgy.

Those two points dropped could make all the difference at the end of the round if England come second in group - thereby facing group D winners Germany. Exciting sure but daunting also.
He did a major Bill Buckner

Typical Yanks, no idea of Geography outside of their home country, if they had read this site they would certainly have worked out the difference between Great Britain, England etc.
A bit of sour grapes perhaps. England was expected to win and they choked.
Can happen to any team, better luck next time.
