I actually thought it was ok. I was sure someone was gonna be sent off.

Pretty poor form for everyone to blow their horns during the north korea anthem. Actually it was pretty touching that the captain was in tears during the anthem too. For the communists I guess there is nothing better

Its been a pretty poor world cup so far, not seen a lot of talent and there have been too many draws.

Great goal from north korea. Deserved i recon

btw: Does anyone cringe when they say 'democratic' in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea? What were they smoking when they added that?

Extremely impressed with the North Koreans. Such heart and enjoyed watching them made the Brazilians sweat in the first half.

Re: 2010 World Cup actual match discussion here (all matches)

yea well i'm really impressed with the n.koreans as well. i was pulling for them and they had alot of heart in their game. myong guk really stepped it up after the brasilian goal and was quite good especially as the brasilians speed and rush the goal-

the brasilians certainly weren't playing their best- but it is a pleasure to watch their foot work and teamwork but as much as i hate to say it they should have scored more.

I believe there has hardly been any regime in the past century that did not claim to be democratic - from the communists in the German democratic republic to the most chaotic and corrupt third world countries like the democratic republic of Congo...

Poor game? It was a very enjoyable game, me and a mate were cheering like loons when Korea scored. They played better than many "established" teams, and can hold their head high for the rest of the cup with that kind of performance and result against Brazil. They give 110%, the only problem is they have one single decent striker with real pace, and play so (understandibly against giants like Brazil) defensively that opportunities for goals are slim.

It's just a shame their country and Dictatorship will spoil and marr any result they have.

Just found out that the literal translation of Ivory Coast is "Fairy-bone coast" in Swissy-land speak. Don't know why, but it just made me laugh.

...the only problem ...
...was that their #9 Jong (I think it was him) hoofed the ball into the stands every time he goat near the Brazilian goal. Glory seeker rather than team player me-thinks.

Re: 2010 World Cup actual match discussion here (all matches)

Brazil looked a little fat I thought, Kaka looks like he is carrying too many pies around with him
The Koreans were fun but they weren't what I would call a good side.
They put 9 men behind the ball and left a fast bloke up front, I've not seen a 5 man defence for a long long time and I don't want to see any more in the world cup.
