Re: Build up to the Ashes

with "their women" I meant the WAGs of the stinking rich businessmen who own these franchisees...

yes definitely I understand the cultural reasons which keep the knowledge of this game limited, but I am also glad "the empire" went bust in time...

the corruption in IPL... ermm, can't deny that even if I wanted to... but ya the scene turned quite ugly this time around... all the more reason for me to wonder, why did the world still not hear about it? but ya I guess we "keep" such news from the International media...

Shaping up to be a good test today. As long as Pakistan can get over 100 when their turn comes

Re: Build up to the Ashes

hey, I thought england were in trouble yesterday when they were what, 112 for 4. Not as much trouble as the Ozys were at 88 all out, but still...then we managed to rescue it yeterday and were looking good at 337 for 4...then totally collasped as only england and australia can, adding only 27 runs for the last 6 wickets...still, at least we weren't all out for 88.

Pakistan are really lacking in the batting department.

Re: Build up to the Ashes

Pains me to say it but England are looking in good shape. Pakistan have a very ordinary batting line up but their bowling line up is top notch and they have done well against them.

Re: Build up to the Ashes

Wait...did england bowl out for 80 the team that bowled out the ozzy's for 88? And hammer them with ease, despite a collapse of epic english, or even Australina, proportions?

That's the feeling every Pakistan cricket fan has this morning

Shame on Pakistan. I hope they are banned from international cricket. And I'm a Pakistan fan.

Re: Build up to the Ashes

So, the Ozzy's are looking really poor. Only england could contrive to lose to such a pathetic side...could be a close series. I'd have to say, england must be slight favourites...any okkers feeling confident?

Re: Build up to the Ashes

I'm looking forward to filling my work desktop with cricket related windows and getting repetative strain injury from clicking refresh.

Sources of choice are:

By Ball: Crickinfo (for the facts)
By Over: Guardian OBO (for the banter)
By Session: Telegraph (for the insights)

As an aside, i did actually get a comment mentioned in the Guardian coverage. The daily subject was cricket (obviously) combined with David Brentisms, i'll copy it here due it being the 'highlight of my life':

David: Under "Strengths"... you've just put making up the numbers.
Ian Bell: Yeah.
David: That's your job though, that's, that's just-
Ian Bell: - Mmm. [nods]
David: No, Ian. What. I was sort of looking for your skills within your job. So is there anything else you could have put there?
Ian Bell: [shrugs]
David: Nope. Okay. Umm... Under "Weaknesses" you've put batting.

Re: Build up to the Ashes

Personally I like the bbc. They do that little rss feed scorecard that sits in the corner of your screen and updates automatically.
