Re: The 2011 Formula One Championship

It's time for the F1 blobby game.

Pick a driver for the GP win.

Rules:

Whoever picks the winner will receive +1 Positive Rep from everyone else playing.

Those who pick the losers will each receive +1 Negative Rep from the Winner.

A driver can be used by one person only. Check to make sure he is available.

1. Alonso- Kevlegs
2. Hamilton- Porsche1909
3. Vettel- Magic
4. Button- Sobeit
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Based on an original idea by Porsche1909

it sucks in a big way not to see Kubica...car was built around him and if Petrov got 6th imgine what Robert could have done to the line-up on top..This season will not be same without him...I guess I'm back to supporting Webber

I agree, this could have been Kubica's year.
I think that Vettel will win but as always I'm a Hamilton fan. So I'm picking Hamilton. Hamilton in a Red Bull would be a certain win.

I know...

Agreed but I feel the multi pit stops may help. And I'm wondering if McLaren's lack of track time might surface as a reliability problem tomorrow.

Great and ominous start by Vettel and RB!!

Re: The 2011 Formula One Championship

I'd just really love to see Vettel and Hamilton at one team.

My one desire for this season is to see Schumi win ONE race from pole position. I may cream myself if that happens

There is part of me also backing Shuni to do better this year, he still has a huge amount of talent and being a little older myself now, I would love for him to show how experience counts.

Re: The 2011 Formula One Championship

Hamilton had problems with Kers, Vettel didn't use it?

Redbull Mini KERS

Quote:
However, there is a major risk with Red Bull's approach.
If they do find themselves under threat from a Kers-equipped car in a race, Vettel and team-mate Mark Webber would be virtually defenceless.
Team principal Christian Horner would not confirm or deny the presence of the system.
But he said: "All I will tell you is our system is not the same as others' but it's at its most beneficial at the start."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/moto...ne/9436936.stm

Quote:
Remember RBR briefly tried KERS in early 2009, and Adrian Newey soon discarded it. Back then weight was an issue – Webber is not the lightest driver in the field – but the limit has since gone up from 605kgs to 640kgs, so that has become less critical.
Clearly Newey did his sums back then and found that KERS did not fit his way of going racing, and it could well be that it still doesn’t, for the reasons outlined above.
So does RBR just have a regular KERS system that can be easily set-up just for start use, with a few elements removed or disconnected? Or does it have a dedicated ‘mini KERS’ that meets the letter of the rules and is never intended to work over a race distance? Does it have both and thus the option to fit either, depending on the track and the circumstances?
We should get some answers tomorrow, with a little help from the TV KERS graphic. Then the question could be whether other teams feel that such a system is within the rules.

Re: The 2011 Formula One Championship

Red Bull may have a mini Kers that is charged before the race and used once at the start. That would make the car lighter, hence the fast quali speed.

They are also saying that Red Bulls front wing is flexing more than most again..
