I think that's another possibility. But I think Schumi is finding his groove and nico has been pretty ok this year with the car that he's been given.

Schumi got some points despite needing to go in for a new front wing. Plus I don't want Schumi to retire without at least getting another podium.
Schumi the shunter has to reretire -he is well past it

Sutil or Kubica (if he is fit)

I can't see kubica ever driving in an F1 race again

Is there any recent news on his arm?

Re: The 2011 Formula One Championship

I understand Webber's plight, but what other top team needs a #1? He's going to have to live with #2 status.

Ferrari - Alonso
Red Bull - Vettel
McLaren - Hamilton/Button
Mercedes - Rosberg

He can go to a team like Renault, who may be getting Kubica back, but he's not guaranteed a shot at race wins or even podiums, so a WDC charge is out of the question.

He's pretty much screwed until he accepts #2 status.

Good question regarding Ferrari. I don't see button going there...but maybe Webber could go there for a season.
Would Webber accept a guaranteed No.2 driver position?

As per my post above. He doesn't really have a choice if he wants to stay in a competitive team.

Re: The 2011 Formula One Championship

I think the best teams will be looking forwards at the younger guys like Di Resta Sutil and maybe Kobayashi rather than keeping Webber as a number two. It doesn`t make sense to keep him if he can`t improve. Maybe Webber gets a drive at Lotus

I'd imagine he'd rather go to rally racing or NASCAR than do that

I'd quite like to see Newey go there after he is done at RBR.

I think we've been through all the likely permutation of where people can go so that when we do find out we can all give ourselves a pat on the back

F16 canopies for F1

It's an obvious solution to prvent further occurrences of injuries like Massa's, an maybe an improvment to airflow etc...Just a shame to see the drivers go "inside" rather than exposed. A loss of some kind, hard to express.

They could also enclose the wheels to prevent some of the accidents caused by open wheels. You would then end up with something like a Le Mans car and F1 would be dead.

Possibly a slightly higher or stronger windshield could be incorporated without losing the F1 feel.

Re: The 2011 Formula One Championship

Not bad for a second driver Webber

Some lap by Hamilton. Hamilton will win this tomorrow with McLaren's awesome race pace methinks. Just got to get their strategy down.

They have awsome race pace?

Nah,he'll lose 2nd place by the 2nd corner. Webber will win with Alonso on the podium

Did you not see the part were Hamilton had the fastest first sector of anybody?

Also does everyone not agree that McLaren have had better race pace than qualifying pace?

Looks like Ferrari have had their one good race, lots of hype around them...then back to 4th and 5th where they belong.

No, that'll be Ferrari

Well, Alonso won from 3rd last race so I'll stick with him being on a podium
