So is Macca in trouble or will they surprise us all come Melbourne eek!!!!
At the moment it does not look like they have a championship winning car but could be the third fastest which is not a bad start to the season. However catching up could be difficult if there are some fundamental issues with the design.
Button doing head and shoulders ad's, he really needs to sack his management team!!
Yeah, I agree I think it looks quite lame and a bit tragic. I think his management team went to L'Oreal and put him forward for their next celebrity male sports model but L'Oreal agreed with me......because he's not worth it.
So only a few days left till the first race. Friday will give us the first chance to start seeing some sort of pecking order, but we won't know for sure who has the fastest car till the end of Q3, then the race is a total unknown with new tyres..... The first 2-3 races need to be completed before we see the true picture though.
Who's getting up at the crack of dawn for this? (I hope I've added the correct CH times, let me know if there are any mistakes). Will probably get up for the race, but not the Quali (will record this and watch a bit later). Looking forward to seeing this in HD and have setup a new reciever in the Cinema room.

Definitely getting up early with a strong cup of coffee for both quali & the race. It's been too long since the last race! At first I was sad to hear about the delay to the start with Bahrain postponing/cancelling but am now very pleased that the season kicks off in Melbourne - remembering how dull Bahrain races tended to be (especially last year) and how good the Ozzie ones are.
Expecting relative performance surprises from Schuey, Toro Rosso, Williams and Lotus (not Renault but last years Lotus!). Our 'local' team Sauber are looking good but then testing often flatters to deceive. The one certainty is that this season is going to be quite a different viewing spectacle with inconsistencies in the number of pitstops, KERS returning and the will it/won't it aid overtaking element of the adjustable rear wing.
With the degredation of the tyres, one worry might be that they run out of tyres for the weekend. Or they have to reduce the practise they do. This will help ease that issue but is NOT available at all GP's.
I remember Alonso not having another fresh set of softs during Quali and was miffed.... as this placed him further down the grid.

Yes, as per the article, "This is in line with an FIA rule change last month that allows the tyre manufacturer to hand out an extra set of tyres at certain races.
The extra set of tyres will be hard compound tyres and can only be used in the first and second practice sessions after which they must be returned to the FIA."

What's all this about proposals for fake rain to make it more interesting? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/moto...ne/9432232.stm
Sounds crazy and introduces unecessary danger. Has Eccelstone suffered brain damage after his mugging?
What next? Pedestrian crossings? Might give Swiss drivers an advantage?
The six colours are as follows:
Wet – orange
Intermediate – light blue
Supersoft – red
Soft – yellow
Medium – white
Hard – silver
I guess they must have chosen medium (white) and hard (silver) to be deliberately confusing. Either that or someone is a bit simple. What's the betting it is hard to tell the difference at race speeds and under different light conditions.

I thought the exact same thing. Surely they could have chosen something else...

The problem won't arise.
From kevlegs original link (BBC News):
Quote:
The F1 rules dictate that there must be a two-compound gap between the two available types of dry-weather tyres at each race, so there is no chance of the silver and white being confused as the hard and medium tyres will never be used at the same race.
The thanks button has disappeared - thank you for this news. I think they might be getting it right at last. Looking forward to an even better season where drivers other than just Hamilton will manage overtakes.
On Eurosport yesterday they said that the chances of the Bahrain Grand Prix happening this season are very slim.
They have until May 1st to confirm if it will be rescheduled. As there is a state of emergency there in operation until at least mid-June this almost certainly rules it out.
