FIFA can be bought

OK, so this could go under:
1) International politics
2) Sport
3) Swiss politics

So doubtless it will be moved.

In the meantime, does this mean that the UK "media" were right - a first - to pursue their investigations into corruption and FIFA should be making unreserved apologies?

Has this told us anything new about how FIFA works? Afterall, bungs are part of the game, are they not?

Does it mean that FIFA will never give the WC2018 to the UK as a result, simply because they were outed? Has it strengthed the UK's bid?

Discuss...

Not really. Or did you think that Blatter would run his business in any way more ethical than the IOC?

Well if you watched the Panorama broadcast last nightit would suggest very strongly that the answer is yes!

Shame that such investigative journalism may cost England their bid!

The bids were already paid for with Rubels and Riyals long ago.

More to the point, Cameron and co. should be praising the BBC rather than blaming them. How many other organisations in the world would get away with such corruption and still not investigate the allegations?

OK, the Russian government and Qatar government maybe. It's time the Swiss took a stance... they are missing out on billions of Francs/Rubels/Riyals in tax here.

OF course they can be brought. I can see no other logical answer as to why Qatar steam rolled Australia in the first round; 11 votes, Australia 1 vote. WTF!

Seriously that is bullshit and it stinks.

Obviously the tournament is going to where the money is; and where the FIFA does not have to worry about such inconveniences as laws... I would have been more surprised if they would have NOT chosen Russia... And a worldcup with 40 or 50 degrees outside temperature, that sounds like fun too!
