| | Editing one's own post
Searched the forum on how to do this and it seems I have to wait until I make a certain number of posts before I get this privilege. But I can't find the criteria. Can someone tell me when I can edit my own post?
I just want to make minor corrections (e.g., correcting a URL link spelling in my post).

You can only edit posts, when your groans are less than 10% of your total posts. Until you can attain this ratio, you should take extra care when typing with rubber gloves on, and use a speck cheller.

I think the count is 20, BUT you also need to be a member for at least one week.

...And to bring this back on topic:-
OP, given the length if time that you've been here, and the number of posts you have you should be able to edit your posts, but, and there's always a but, you only have a small window of, I think, around 30 mins to edit your post, after which it becomes locked for ever more.

So it isn't a timing problem. I will hit 20 with this post. If that is the critieria, the button should appear.
I certainly hope the criteria is not based on a Thanks/Groans ratio! Trolls can easily abuse that criteria and prevent a good-faith poster from accessing a normal function.

Isn't the criteria written down somewhere???

According to your join date you have been a member for 7 days, but depending on the time of day you joined you may have only been a member for 6.5 days. In all probability you'll find the restriction lifted tomorrow. Post again in this thread to let us know.
Tip - If tomorrow you find you still can't edit a new post try logging out of the forum, and then logging back in again.

I just saw the edit button with my last post. The seven days limit should go into a FAQ somewhere.

There is a link in the Sticky in the Introductions Forum. It should be updated to the latest settings soon.
