Lots of people think that Geneva is the capital. But it is, in fact, Zurich.

The confusion adds to the efficacy of the spam filter.
I enjoy humor as much as anyone as long as I know it's humor. In this case, I'm not sure.

Hmm, no sarcasm or irony smiley detected.

My initial suspicions are confirmed.

I looked up the answer in answer.com and got this:

Quote
Switzerland does not have an official capital. The city of Bern (also spelled Berne) is officially the "Bundesstadt" ("federal city"), but not the "Bundeshauptstadt" ("capital"). Bern is the seat of the federal government, which makes it the de facto capital.

So I guess the answer is "none" or answer.com has no idea what it's talking about.
It's exactly correct, Switzerland has no capital city, they just have a federal city. I think they also ask this questions to the ones who want to be citizens in their tests...

Re: Are you familiar with Switzerland?

Missing preposition. Switzerland's capital is IN Zurich, mainly in bank coffers and vaults under Paradeplatz.

You've got to be kidding all EF

In addition I've seen no one telling that the capital is in Geneva, but seen lots of people claiming that it's in ZURICH

Actually...

Switzerland: A central region in the European continent. Historically considered a neutral location, it's city of Geneva became the seat of the Earth Alliance Central Government

We are more than just a Capital....

Re: Are you familiar with Switzerland?

Oh Boy, I don't know if I have been here for far too long but Zurich would certainly never cross my mind as the capital of Switzerland. It is like saying that Johannesburg is the capital of RSA or New York city is the capital of USA. I know Switzerland, Sweden and Swaziland might correlate to the same places for some of us but you cannot fool me. I know it for sure because I read it somewhere in the local paper I think it must have been 20min.
