It's a human verification question to prevent spam bots from registering.
It might also keep out those who think the forum is for practicing English rather than something that is Switzerland specific.
When you register it asks, "are you familar with Switzerland, which city is the capital?".
The correct answer, of course, is Zurich. If you get it wrong it won't let you register.
The field is only visible on your own profile, not to others. It shouldn't actually be visible at all, but this is a limitation in the vBulletin software.
