Market place and who we deal with.

Hi!

I am not sure if this is the place to ask it, so please mods let me know.

I am having this little issue. Someone wants to buy something from me. I proposed to send it to the person and the person told me she will be around Basel in a week or so. I said no problem, I'll hold it for you. I didn't hear from her. I try to send a PM and she told me she was in Basel trying to reach me (). But she didn't send an PM before to tell me when she was coming, nor did I receive a call, nor a PM to tell me afterward that she has been around...

Now someone else has been interested to buy what I am selling and I did put that person on hold because I gave my words to that first person.

That person has a red blob next to her nickname. I know that she bought a lot of things from members here and I am wondering if her red blob is from a bad experience. Sadly, it is no way to know that.

My question is, can I ask on the public forum if someone knows that person, if someone have made deals with her and if it was good or bad?

I am easy going and relax when it comes to accomodate someone but I don't have ''Stupid'' writted on my forehead (I know, I just checked again)

Red blobs or tonnes of green have absolutely nothing to do with real life.

I was selling a ticket ( or two ) and received some PMs about promises to pay in 1-2 weeks etc. I wrote back saying consider it gone if I found a willing buyer earlier, and I did. No dramas.

Re: Market place and who we deal with.

Ask her if (and when) she will be coming to get the item because someone else is interested. No reply within 2 days then I would contact the other buyer.

I just sold something on Ricardo to a potentially difficult buyer with lots of negative rep. I saw her first bid, then her rep and I wish I had blacklisted from bidding again I hope she isn't a right pain in the b*tt about when she will be collecting it.

I know that red or green doesn't mean something. But if it is about some selling, some bad experience, it makes a difference.

It is not just about red or green blob. But it is also about sharing informations from experiences of selling something. Let's say someone had a bad experience with xyz company, the person will come here and tell us in the complain corner.

Could someone do the same about an other forum member if something bad happened? If I want to know if this person is reliable, etc?

It is best not to hold things for anyone. Sell to the first person who turns up with the money.

Put this in your add.

Re: Market place and who we deal with.

I guess.. People have been nice to me when I couldn't take something right away and they hold it for me. But I made sure to let them know when and I was strict on the time I told them if they had someone else on the waiting list.

Sigh!

But I am still curious about the question I asked.

Re: Market place and who we deal with.

What Mariezug said. Drop her a PM saying that you have an offer for the item and if you dont hear from her in X number of days, you will have no choice but to sell it to the next person. You've been more than fair holding the item for her.

With regards to the red blob, it might not be because of an unpleasant previous transaction. I'll simply leave it, move onto the next interested buyer and not ask the open forum. Why bother?

Re: Market place and who we deal with.

Time has already passed. In this example of selling you don't postpone with a buyer like you have. Why - selling is a business, professional or casual.
