There's lots of people who don't quite get it with a lot of us, but sure it makes it all the more fun in the long run.

Truthfully I was a little surprised that you were chosen as mod just because of this, on the other hand you have also contribute many good things to the forum as well.
Guess there are just a lot of people who don't get you - and it's good to be aware of that. | | | | | Aww Begga, true or not, if I thought you meant all that in general terms, I'd certainly afford it a considered response. But as for my past transgressions that might have annoyed you specifically, rest assured, it wasn't just me.

Most disappointing. | | | | | Actually, for once I'm not finding this in the least bit amusing.
The thought of the English Forum being shut down just because someone had his/her feelings hurt makes me unhappy, given the amount of good this forum has achieved over the last six years.
The question I asked at the beginning of this thread was a genuine one: I really do want to know what CHexo and Kittster hope to achieve by reporting the English Forum to "the authorities".
If that is construed as 'trolling', then so be it. But that is certainly not my intention.

Paging EditorBob: Could you please play around with the fonts/ad sizes/commercial section on EF so we can resume normal service and distract everyone from the Swiss V English saga?

So is this a personal fight/ grudge between the two? and people decide to report EF? Sorry doesn't equate
I am sure, We might find examples where each of them or us would have been "agressive or biased" in some way or the other.
Also there are lot of "anti US" / anti Non eu/anti Brit/ anti French/ anti Italian/ anti Indian comments passed on the forum so we should all decide to report EF in some form or the other ?
I tend to agree people complain more about Swiss, because we are between "Swiss" . The same would be true for any county no ? | This user would like to thank miss_bean for this useful post: | |

There is a line between complaints and racial slurs. Many threads have gone beyond to racially slurring the Swiss. The law is the law, including the terms of use of this forum. Kittster is well within her range, and can post as she please within it.
Those who post irresponsibly garbage, well, do as you like, but also accept the consequences if any.
So if anyone wants to call the cops, then let the chips fall where they may.
It's time to grow up people.

| | Re: A question for those who would report the EF to "the authorities" | Quote: | | | | | For me, it's just funny - the Swiss, like everyone else, are nuts. It's not meant to be offensive, and I don't think the Brits are any better, if I was living there I'd be complaining about them. I moan about the Swiss, not because they're any worse than anyone else but because they happen to be right in front of me, so the material comes easy. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=pd_lpo...K4EQ9YY563NHZX | | | | | Anyone have this book? Must the entire membership of the forum lose out just because a few people are unhappy in Switzerland and choose to express that unhappiness in Complaints Corner?

I was given the Swiss one and found it surprisingly accurate | | | | | The issue with these books is that usually the target of the relevant books don't find them funny as the "natives" don't see the stereotyping as anything other than "normal". |

If only a writer so insightful and funny would contribute to this forum.
I have given it to some of my Swiss friends and they find it hilarious.

We're all Swiss-bashers, even when we're not, and we're all going to pay for it. |
