A question for those who would report the EF to "the authorities"

What do you want, exactly?

I just want someone to care.

But DB, I take it that when you are wanting to report something to "the authorities" you tell your wife, as she is clearly the one wearing the pants in your virtual life .

This and this.

I'm just curious to find out what, exactly, these people hope to achieve.

Well, I don't think there is a hope to achieve anything. Did you drink a cup of tea today? Well, calling the police is the Rosti-belt equivalent of an Englishman having a cuppa.

Oh, right.

I guess it is grown-ups dobbing.

Aside from Kittster. She is cool. She can do what she likes.

I also don't understand the Swiss' obsession with authorities. It's like in kindergarten when you'd run to your mommies to tell on someone "Herr polizei, herr polizei, the EF said this to me today, do something...."

Um, I think she deserves full respect as she contributes a lot to this forum from a Swiss and English perspective, and she does this incredibly eloquently.

If I had a choice I would love to read more of the interesting threads that explain, discuss, define, exhibit & inform readers on EF about Switzerland, it's people/residents, the way it is & how things are done.

It would be nice that EF was just a catalyst for these discussions rather than being the subject of them that it has so much recently.

The bigger question in my view if there are some who will rock the boat is simple: is there anyone really who will benefit from it? Even those who have made these threats to report it?

Accepted, but IMO she's undone a lot of good in the last 24 hours.

I have had a look at some posts, but can you give me an executive summary (preferably with a power point presentation) ?

OH WAIT! So you are the mod that pissed her off?

Re: A question for those who would report the EF to "the authorities"

This is a Forum - people vent off, agree, disagree. That is what it is all about. 'Threatening' to call the plod is just plain ridiculous- and will certainly not help Anglo-Swiss relations. Plain daft from me with both hats on.

Re: A question for those who would report the EF to "the authorities"

I think there is quite a bit of bad blood on this forum, some members who have long-term issues with each other. Why not use this thread to say what you have to then the rest of us will no longer have to put up with all this silliness?

After all, it is only an internet forum.

Re: A question for those who would report the EF to "the authorities"

Flouncing, threats of police/authorities, attacks on the poor Yorkshire folk, loss of freedom of speech, mod silencing requests, "the British are racist" comments.......just another day on EF. Anyone got any spare popcorn as I seem to have run out in the last 24 hours?

Re: A question for those who would report the EF to "the authorities"

I can understand her sentiments, I know "my country" is not perfect has bigger problems/issues/ as to what Switzerland has! Having said that I would still not like to read "I HATE the country" , its a bit harsh! specially from "foreigners" even if it is just the virtual internet forum.

But I would also accommodate the fact that "foreigners/immigrants face different kind of problems in a new place" and it is quite natural to expect some rant on a public forum, nothing personal or it is not targeted to any one. So reporting/ punishing EF for public views is OTT .

I am happy there are many of us who appreciate the country and its lifestyle from time to time
