Have you been swindled/cheated on this Forum?

Just wondering if this happened to any one else... I sold some gently used things online and posted/mailed to the buyer. She claims she hasn't recd the package. The post office says they have delivered to a person at that address and never leave it at the doorstep. I sent her the tracking number etc- no response. It's been 2 weeks since the package was delivered.

What would you do? Anyone have a similar experience?

looking forward to hearing from other forum members

Thanks

I'd be very careful in using the words cheated / swindled.

The Post Office delivery have left things into my Briefkasten ( letterbox ), or Milchkasten ( parcel tray ) and at some instances, at the main door if the parcel is too big ie bigger than my Milchkasten allows for.

As there is a tracking number, I assume this is a registered item. Registered items require a personal collection from the Post Office.

Re: Have you been swindled/cheated on this Forum?

Our post-person often leaves parcels inside our building if the door is opened, or we move them out of the rain/snow if they are left outside...

If it's registered then it's probably just sitting at the post office, and the card was not received - we had one postie for a while that didn't even bother to press the doorbell - he just assumed no-one was home...and I've certainly had a parcel that was 'too big to deliver' and they left it at the post office for me to pick up and bring home on the bus!

Re: Have you been swindled/cheated on this Forum?

Two possibilities:

The post office did what all the others posters told you,

Or she did received it and won't pay you... Yes it could happened too. If someone has enough guts to show up to an event organised by a forum member, eat all he can and leave without paying and the bill on the organiser's hand, I believe this could happen too.

I don't like the idea to send something and wait to get pay nor that I trust to send the money before and receive the package after.... I don't trust people enough.

Meanwhile, someone (not on this forum) sent me some books, but I never received them. They didn't send it registered, so they are out of pocket.

Take that statement with a grain of salt. Our mail man regularly leaves items outside the door if nobody in our building is home (only 3 apartments). My daughter never received an iPod she ordered despite being told it was delivered, fortunately later they admitted leaving it outside the door and Apple reimbursed her.

Re: Have you been swindled/cheated on this Forum?

I had a delivery of some BOSE headphones over Christmas. Never received it. I got the tracking number from the sender and checked the Swiss Post website--it had been delivered. I put a notice in my flat on my letter box (has anyone seen a package, tracking details, etc.) and two days later the headphones (unwrapped!) were in my post box. Cheeky muppets.
