By having no rep power or offering a rep of 0.

[None of this matters, but comments ought not to be rude with neg rep. Express opinion, but insults are a no-no]

How do you determine who gave you the green blobbies so you can thank them?

Look at your own profile - but you have to scroll down a bit.

Oh joy! You mean I can ignore the chap that called me a douche, or is that an opinion too?

Biggest laugh this year was a newbie who tried to red blob me but couldn't due to no rep points. Oh how I laughed

My blobby preferences
- I do admit having my own list of favorite writers who I'll blobby for intelligence and style.
- kind and gentle souls who write to comfort
- caustic funny characters
- newbies for encouragement to get'em started

Frankly, when one spends 20 min with the eyes 20 cm from the screen in order to decipher without one mistake a 180 years old hand written letter of a couple of sentences in Sütterlin, it is really nice to experience appreciation from the readers of the forum in one form or another. People did and I would therefore do it again because of this ackknowledgement. It's purely psychological, i agree, but it's human.
This was one example I really think i deserved lots of greenies (my other messages, I let you the judge of).
+1. I spent a considerable amount of time writing some of the FAQ postings in the Employment section and it was nice of people to take the time to acknowledge that effort. It shows me that the effort is valued and encourages me to do it again.

Next up: a FAQ on blobbies. \/
