Hi Mods,
I have a question about your role and maybe you could enlight me, please?
When a mod send a automatic message after deleting or moving a thread, it says in the message to not reply because it is an automatic message but if you have a question about the decision, please ask the mod.
When I do have a question, I always get a positive feedback from every single mods except one. That mod usually doesn't bother to answer back at all.
Is it optional to interact with the forum members? If someone ask a question directly to you, as a mod, don't you have to answer it?
Big thank you to take the time to answer me,
Nil P.S: I have no intention to start a debate so if someone wants to take this opportunity to put oil on the fire and create some drama, please do it somewhere else. | The following 3 users would like to thank Nil for this useful post: | |

it is the same like answering the ringing phone.
do we have to pick it up? (probably knowing that we heard it all before)
no, we don't.
do we have to justify for not answering the phone?
no, we don't. (in 99%)

Because in this case ALL mods except one, don't have a life outside the forum since ALL of them except one, find the time and the kindness to answer the members. |

No,
so please keep walking. This question is for the mods and obviously you can't answer for them about what is their view on this matter.

Yeah so, being unpaid as we are, we don't have to answer (in as much as no one really has to do anything). I always try and give a considered response the first time, and might ignore a concurrent response if somebody just won't leave an issue alone and I feel I've explained it. If your (not you Nil, anyone) thread has been closed and you feel like knocking off a PM to the guilty mod, please try and leave it an hour and come back and see if you still really care. If you do, and want clarification then fine, but usually it seems pretty obvious and has the message attached.
EDIT: btw, this is my answer, not the answer of the mod team.

EDIT: btw, this is my answer, not the answer of the mod team. | | | | | Dear Eco,
Thanks for your answer. This exemple will definitely fall on deft ears with me too. Agressivity doesn't bring any good.
But I am not the kind to send agressive messages to mods and I am always (I believe) polite and respectful with please, thank you, etc... And I believe the majority of the mods will agree on that about me.
I can't recall that I have ever had a problem with a thread of mine being closed, honestly.
In my case it is usually a technical question. And like I said, every mods in here do answer me, except this same mod, each time. And I think this is not something specific to me but does happen to others too.
For exemple, the mod moved a thread into General Off-Topic, which honestly I don't mind. But I believe the thread belongs into Family matter since it is about relationship and phychology. I shared this view with the mod. I believe I am right with my view but maybe as a mod you see it differently. I appreciate when the mod take the time to explain why. So next time, I might put it right away in the General Off-Topic section instead to put it in the Family matter.
By answering me, it shows the mod is polite and respectful (since I was myself) and it also help HIM with his job since if he is right and the thread should belong in the General Off-Topic, it save him to do that work in the futur because I will put the thread properly where it belongs...

I'm not sure about the specific thread you're talking about, but normally if it's a general family matter which is universal and not specifically to do with Switzerland, it's moved to General Off Topic.

So I guess the Family Matter will need a big clean up.
