So what is the rule? 1/5 goes into the G Off-Topic? Depends if mods are writting on the topic? If it is sunny that day?
It most have a standard, isn't it?

I am asking a valid question here, why don't you go and beat a cat, or look for some other nice answers of yours?

It most have a standard, isn't it? | | | | | OK, you win. Mods are not 100% consistent. There are grey areas all over the place, and different mods, or the same mod on different days, could decide differently - do decide differently. It also depends on the direction a thread takes. Lots of jokey replies, flame wars, long digressions into how things are done in some other country, stuff like that increases the chance of having a thread cruelly and heartlessly offtopicked. But yes, even taking that into account, even allowing for the fact there are ten of us and 250-300 active threads per day, mods are not 100% consistent.
Having said that, please tell me this isn't all about thanks/groans/postcount, Nil. Because right now that's all that really distinguishes Off Topic from any of the other sections.
Why is this inconsistency (yes, I admit it! Inconsistency!) such a big deal?

I'm a bit confused... in what way is it a problem for a thread to be assigned to Off-Topic?
It's still on the forum, visible for all to see, available for all to respond to, isn't it?
Am I misunderstanding something here?

Crying about other posts which weren't moved isn't suddenly going to make your post on-topic, is it now? It's just like a baby screaming, "he's got a sweetie, why can't I have one".
Grow up.
Is that a better explanation?

So if your rep needs topping up, just start a stonkin' thread in Off Topic, and hope that a moderator doesn't send it to Complaints Corner.
Try it. | The following 3 users would like to thank for this useful post:

No it isn't about count of this stupid feature on the forum. I am the first one who finds it totally ridiculous and it's create so stupid dramas over nothing.
It is very annoying to look for something that should belongs into a section, or who always been in a section and find it has been moved all of a sudden without any notice.
To think about it, I do like the Thank button, this is true. Not because it is counted but because it gives a good heads up to the person who write something valid, who does a good contribution, saying; hey, good one, I agree, Ha ha, etc. So when a very useful topic goes into Off-topic section and you lose this feature, it does kind of suck.
I am trying to see how something should be a Family Matter but is off-topic....
Apparently, I am not the only one confused by this new ''direction''.

So Off Topic is a good thing, as you can blather on while maintaining your ratio . | Quote: | | | | | Nah couldn't give a sausauge that mod's are <shock> real people who behave differently/with inconsistancy. They are the lifeblood of the forum, the salt of the earth, the epitome of honor and the righteous way. I for one welcome our mod leaders. |

Is that a better explanation? | | | | | Feel hormonal today?
Want a Nespresso?
Yes something from mine got move to Off-Topic, like something from UTH, from Ouchboy, from the guy there, the girl here and that one over there.
What is your point? I can't bring up this question? I can't ask a valid question to get a valid answer? I can't show exemple to prove my points?
What it YOUR point? Wanna make me look like a foul? A crying baby because I am bringing up a question? Because I am asking for some explanations? How does that bother you?
Mathnut gives me great answers. She admitted it was a minus on the forum right now.
And guess what? By addressing the question, someone raise something to work on. Now it is obvious and maybe things will improve.
But you? What do you do? You give some stupids answers, try to make it looks like it is a bigger deal that it is, you want to make me look for something else, post pictures, etc... That would help the situation! Good job Mirfield! | This user groans at Nil for this post:
