Groan at and total groan not matching up

Might be a stupid question, but I searched the forum and could not find an answer.

So, I recently discovered that I have been "groaned at 1 time in 1 post." Curious to find out which post triggered the groan, I clicked on the "see all groaned at posts" link in my profile and there was nothing there. I also noticed that the "Total Groan" showing up in my profile is zero even though I have been "groaned at 1 time in 1 post." Now I'm confused

Any idea?

Re: Groan at and total groan not matching up

Sometimes, whole threads or posts can be deleted.

The groan count stays there.

happened again to me this morning.

........ However, Groans are AWESOME if you truely meant what you said.

So don't sweat the small stuff

Total Groans = the number of groans you have dished out.

If you are groaned for a post and the post is deleted, the groan remains. Your groaned at post must have been deleted.

Groans are great. I'm aiming for my first kilogroan.

Might be mean, but I was taught the lesson this way

Last edited by ceppych; 20.07.2011 at 13:21. Reason: removed the groan. Just TOO mean!

Your groaned post was in a thread that got deleted, unfortunitely it doesn't delete the groan with it. Same would be true with any thanked posts as well. Also posts/threads that are moved to an off topic area retain any thanks/groans they might have recieved prior to the move (you just can't see them but they are still counted).

Re: Groan at and total groan not matching up

also, if you are groaned at and the thread is then moved to off topic, groans and thanks disappear from the post, but stay on your total. I think.

Can you kindly remove the groan to my initial post? I really don't see a reason for this. It's just question.

Re: Groan at and total groan not matching up

thanks for the quick answers :-)

I thought when a post is deleted, everything would get deleted as well (thanks, groans). Makes sense now
