| | How to report dodgy friend request?
I have done a search but I can't find any info on the this.
I have a friend request pending form somebody I have never heard of who has just joined the forum and has no posts or info about him/her.
I know I can just ignore the request but is there a way to report this request? I've looked for a little button or something but can't find anything. Is the simplest thing just to choose a mod at random and send them a PM about it?

Top right of a PM there should be a little triangular sign - which, if you put the mouse on it, says report PM. Click on it and send it off. This message then goes to all moderators and, if you are lucky, one of them sends the writer a little note saying that this is frowned upon on this forum, or, if they have a whole load of these, says that unsolicited PM sending is a bannable offence on here.
Quite a few folk do it in all innocence - others are pure spammers.

I know I can just refuse the request but then he or she could be ging around doing the same to loads of people.
Why would anyone make a friend request without making a single post or giving any info about themselves? That's what makes me think it's a bit dodgy.

Sorry, my mistake. I was thinking of a PM. I should read the messages more slowly!!! I sometimes get 'friend requests' in PMs which is why I confused the two.
I just ignore normal friend requests if I don't want them. Anyone else can do the same.
As you said, you can write a PM to a Mod though - check out which ones are on-line... if none are visible, check out who is writing answers to posts! They may be hiding but will read your message sooner or later. | This user would like to thank Longbyt for this useful post: | |

Some people just can't acknowledge their own fan following when it bites them on the nose.
Please form an orderly queue for autographed postcards.
