Sorry mate have to say this... "You maybe verging on being a moron."
Well I watched a show about Theo Van Gough the other day. They showed the picture I used, but they didnt say anything about the incident. Just that this guy made a movie about womens lack of rights etc. and was killed.

I didnt know where the cartoon was from. And neither, according to him, did Grumpygrit.

I think you miss a lot of the interpretation. Or you just keep it on the side to prove a point?

We have an expression in french it goes like this:

-On apprend pas ŗ un singe ŗ faire des grimaces

Which could be translated in something like this:

- You don't teach a Monkey to do monkey business.

When it comes to interpretations, analysing and decoding, you won't teach me much.

You want to take me for an idiot, I am fine with it, if it makes you more comfortable. But believe me, on a forum where most of our biggest topics are on religions, Islam, Middle-east, etc. No one will put something similar without intentions.

If you believe this, you are very naive.

See, I am still not falling in names calling, insults, etc.

It won't make my points and I will lose credibility.
You only proved that you can't follow a discussion. That you can't accept an opinion different than yourself. That you can't admit the obvious other interpretation of a cartoon.

And that you can't read my post properly because I said the thread was also a bash against x and y.

Which you immediately interpreted as an insult toward your vision .
(your vision= the only thing you seems to be sure about here...)

That's better description of that thread:
And to bash poor interpreters, poor shocked victims, poor easily offended people, and poor people who can't focus on other aspect of a cartoon.

Why should it matter what these morons do, how does that affect a individual to practice a religion? It doesn't if they burn a bible, koran or darwins theory of evolution. It's their choice, just see these people for what they are.

When religion crosses the boundaries of law only then it becomes a problem.
When someone push people to hatred, it does matter. You have much more nutters in the world to influence than people able to use their brain.

That is dangerous!

Insult level?

Are you serious?

Ok I'm sorry again:

poor interpreters: sorry I offended your kind for not being able to find more than 1 interpretation to a cartoon. You group were right all along. The cartoonist is an evil anti-Muslim who made that drawing to kill billions of muslim people. Sorry I haven't see that earlier and I insulted you by saying "bash poor interpreters".

, poor shocked victims: I'm sorry against that kind of victims who are shocked because of a shocking cartoon on the internet. I omitted to show compassion and I forgot to see how your every day life must be terrible:
8am BAM a shocking cartoon in the face. 08:03 another terrifying image show on google, your feelings are extremely impacted. 08H05 it's already the end of what you can cope: There's a cartoon about your favorite politic party: you are having a shock attack, game over.

poor easily offended people,
Sorry to have insulted you. I'm sorry to have said "you" I did not meant any disrespect or to offend you anymore. I'm sorry to have said sorry twice, I don't want to offend you by apologizing too much.

and poor people who can't focus on other aspect of a cartoon.
I'm sorry for insulting poor people who can not talk about anything else than what they know about a cartoon. After all they know even better than the "cartoonist" who made the drawing. It's clearly an attack towards muslims, sorry to have not see your extreme observation skills.

So yes i'm sorry for all my "insults"

On the contrary, I have deliberately used what some might consider an offensive avatar. Personally, I think these nutters have hijacked Nil's thread.

Dude, you are without doubt a great debator, probably even better en masse, but the point of this whole drawn out thread is that dear old Zuger used an image to subtly extend his view on religion, whilst at first claiming innocence, later on in the heat of the thread, admitted that it was the motivation behind the avatar, instantly justifying Nils argument . No amount of minute analysis of Nils words will change the very fact that her concerns were proven correct.
Zugers latest about Van Gouch don`t really warrant a response because the reality is within the words of this thread and unless someone sneaky changes them, they are there for all to see. So let up on the assault on the one person that suspected and was proved right. After all this is a community and the one with the right argument desÍrves respect.

Re: Avatars

On this people,

it was a good debate, we got some very interesting point of views and It kept me on my toes. Beside challenging my english, I always like a good intellectual debate.

I don't think we will come to an agreement, which is ok too.

I think we should just wait and see what will be the outcome of this passionate debate.

Cheers all,

I am going to the beach!

No what's dangerous is to react without thought or the offer of education.

Which is exactly what the repsonse was in the other thread. (Not by you I might add)

It is your role as a person with a brain to educate people when they are offensive and to explain why, not to impose rules on people. Show them the way.

To be honest, I feel I'm coming late to the party - any chance of someone posting up the avatar in question so I can join in the outrage properly?

Your avatar is offending Muslims!!!

It's clearly a Muslim head, being nasty and impolite.

You clearly had the intentions to hurt every Muslims in the galaxy.

How can we tolerate such abuse?

PS: Sorry it was not an avatar but a "forum picture", apparently rules are different. It's not shocking then, I apologizes for having insulted you 25 times in my post*.

*where are the insults? don't worry she knows, that's enough.

It was of a naughtily altered religious leader that caused offense to some readers.
