Are all Avatars good to show and free to expose? Is there some kind of avatars that are not allowed on the forum?

I've been wondering why my profile picture doesn't show up on here...
I can see it when I view my actual profile, but the photo doesn't show up (near my name) when I post in threads. At first I thought it was because my status wasn't high enough, but I don't think that's the reason. |

*pulling up a chair*... ohhh, this could be interesting.
EDIT..
Carrie , if you look at the "control panel" I think you'll find there are two separate things..
1) edit profile picture... which is the pic on your page with personal info, history, etc
and
2) edit Avatar ...which in my case is that handsome gentleman staring at you just now.

Control panel -> Edit Avatar = Control panel -> Edit Profile Picture =
Hope that helps ^^

I think you'll find they are the standard rules
common decency
general insults
not calling the mods f"ckwads. (1)
basic stuff like dat. (1) not that I, or any of my close personal friends would ever use these sort of names, nor in fact waste the precious resources of said mods.

Woo hoo! I got my avatar to work, thanks to the posts above.
Apparently, I need to be a bit more observant regarding the settings options on here...
P.S. Nil, sorry for "invading" your thread. Hope you got the answer(s) you were looking for. |

Commercial avatars aren't allowed. Avatars which offend common decency probably aren't allowed either. Moving avatars shouldn't be allowed, but apparently are.
Do you have a particular avatar in mind?

That's twice in one thread...What the heck is "common" decency ? Why is it better than uncommon decency , and who the heck wants to be labelled common when being decent ?

What is offensive for one, might not be for the next one.
How do we make a common consensus in a way to avoid illegalities in decisions and make sure the same rule is applied to everyone, without exception?
It should be already something established in the forum rules, no?

The mods are not the Borg. | Quote: | | | | How do we make a common consensus in a way to avoid illegalities in decisions and make sure the same rule is applied to everyone, without exception? | | | | | We can't, because not all avatars are equally offensive to all members. If you don't like an avatar, complain to the mods. If they do nothing, move on. It's only an avatar. | Quote: | | | | It should be already something established in the forum rules, no? | | | | | I'm pretty sure there's no mention of Danish cartoons in the forum rules... | The following 4 users would like to thank for this useful post: | |
