I decided to revisit all my groaned posts and I noticed two things;
  1. Nil groans me A LOT*
  2. The vast majority of groaned posts have also been thanked
I think from this we can safely say that groans are pretty meaningless.

*At least one of my other groans was for defending Nil.
That's because you are as annoying as my big brother and I have no other choice to like him anyway....

I've actually erased the very few I had handed out a long while back as I thought it was all due to misunderstandings anyway
and as I do find the groan option rather silly, well only logical then that I don't use it anymore right?!
I couldn't agree more. I think I'll go back and erase mine too.

I just went back and checked the last few I've handed out.

They all deserved them. I would groan them all again if I could ;)

I do not groan anybody, never have until now. simples.
Likewise. The groans cover such a wide range from 'I disagree' to 'That was totally out of order'. Thanks are more clear cut.

If I don't like a post I will ignore it, PM the member, Red Rep., or Report Post depending on how much I dislike it. Most of the time I will ignore it and move on to something more interesting

Re: To Groan or not to Groan, that is the question.

I downloaded a free preview on iTunes last night for a new show called "New Girl" staring that cute obscure Zooey whatsherface that shows up in everything but you dont' really know who she is...

Anyway... the show features a "Douchebag Jar" Whenever someone is an idiot, they gotta put a Dollar in the "Douchebag Jar" for being a douchebag.

Since we don't have a "Douchebag Jar", I'm going to use the groan button to show someone their being a douchebag. It used to be that I would use the button very sparingly. But here lately, there's just been so many douchebags.

And of course, at this point of my post, I'm just trying to see how many times I can use the word "douchebag."

welcome to the 21st century. it's sexist to refrain from beating up someone just cos she is female.

I have handed out precisely 35 groans* since my sojourn here in EF. Maybe I'm just a forgiving kind of guy.

*The majority to anti-vaccine twats, I think
