i was going ot edit my profile when I noticed the following:



On further inspection:



Just to point out, it is set to "Yes", on the options, although I think it's just the default for the point, not an actual "Yes"

Has there been any announcement into this little detail??

I just had to modify my location because someone else changed it for me and I had to enter my birthday and state that France is the country bordering Switzerland to proceed.

Obviously a lady always lies about her birthday, which I have.

it's not a country, it's a principality?

Maybe we need to inform them that a principality is a sovereign nation (country) ruled by a prince....

I just tried to complete my profile and was tld my birthday is invalid.

So the EF is purporting to know more about me than I do myself. If so, why do they bother to ask?

okay, now I see, no matter what I type, EF says my birthday is invalid and the "Do you want spam from The Local?" option reverts to yes.

Reading this thread made me (finally) look at EF-ers public profile...

Yet again the communication skills of 'The Local' are shown as appalling.

It should not be down to the observation skills of members to inform about changes that affect all of us.

Even if the new feature had to be added to profiles before it is activated, it would not have taken much to post an announcement of the change. Even Facebook can manage that.

The continued ignoring of members is only going to alienate us in the longer term.

As with all the othe recent changes, I don't expect any reply from The Local. Their silence shows how little they think of the members that they rely on.
