However, this has become a waste of time and I don't have too much of it left.
Someone mentioned Mark and It made me wonder how he would view what the EF has become. I don't think he'd like it much.
Bye then. | | | | |
Cheers mate. On behalf of the many folks you've helped with your wisdom, knowledge and unstintingly patient, accurate advice, thank you.
Like you, I think I'll also be wandering off. Why? Simples...
I was open-minded at the time of "The Takeover", but since then I've watched the steady degeneration of the place since then, not in terms of content but in terms of neglect and ignorance from the new "owners", and have no option but to conclude the "The Local" couldn't organise a [paragraph removed], let alone a business.
As for "Editor" Bob's petulant, unprofessional (and, to my mind at least, libellous) statements regarding economisto, it just confirme d my suspicion that [paragraph removed], never mind an editor.
So, for those reasons, I'm also out... Attachment 33780

Reason: removed deletion link | | | | | Although I understand why you removed it, not allowing it ro be published means that a fair few people have no way of deleting their account should they want to (and everyone was given the right to, to show they did not accept the new terms).
It seems a lot of the emails went AWOL (I never received one either). Will users be able to request a re-send on an individual basis?
(I don't wan't one, BTW. I have a twitchy mouse finger at the best of times).

| | | | | I asked this in the "ask paul" thread and the answer was no, as far as they are concerned (apparently) the emails bounced back and so those addresses are dead.
I believe it was Ouchboy later in that thread tho posted the link with a convenient "insert your email here" space if anyone is so inclined.

This is like a marriage gone sour. Trust and transparency are being questioned and suddenly a third party is involved.
I'm not ready for an EF divorce or a separation but will be following the drama closely.

This has probably been said twenty times before, but I wonder how many people have changed their e-mail address since they gave it to EF when they joined. Maybe these famous Lokal emails are sadly sitting in some no-longer-used mail-box hoping to be read.

(I don't wan't one, BTW. I have a twitchy mouse finger at the best of times). | | | | | Under the new T&Cs everybody has the right to delete their account should they wish. Those who haven't had the email and really want to delete their account can get in touch with us, and we'll take it form there and see what can be done. On a personal note I'd rather not see too many of those requests.
I'm very much against that link being public as it could easily be used maliciously - Take summerrain for instance. A bit of innocent tomfoolery ended up with her account being inadvertently nuked. While it is possible to restore an account, it's not as easy as pressing an undo button, and at this time it's not possible to fully restore the account intact.
On another note I have to say I've not received the email either - EF california for me I guess
