Or realising they have taken it then tried reversing?
Is this one way street part of a more complex one-way system? Or a simple US City type system? | The following 2 users would like to thank dodgyken for this useful post: | |

That's really stupid. Why block out future potential members just because they at one point decided not to be members? I can understand you can't have duplicate accounts but a life-time ban just becase you delete you account?? C'mon the Local, you didn't really think this one through, did you? | Quote: | | | | | Just a polite note, if you self-delete you should consider that a permenant move and any attempt to re-join EF will be met with an instant ban. I - and I'm sure most of us - appreciate that hugely.
It might be an idea - when you have got your heads around it in 24/48 hours - to prepare a post on what it really means to the Forum and containing little nuggets like the one posted above. Just one place to have a "this is what it means to the way we will run it / operate it" thread.

But, honestly...when you think about it, if people poof away, they did for a reason. Say, once stalks and poofs, then why reincarnate. I am not sure if people realize what houskeeping means, but us having to chase folks who poof into dust and then reincarnate, distinguish them from real troubles and bots that plaque us with hardcore spam, from flouncers and drama queens who pushed the wrong button in the heat of the moment... . I say that again, omgwtfbbq. It would make any kind of structure and even debate impossible, if people run of and show up a few mins later as their own alterego.

If someone closes an account, and opens a new one there is no parties affected. If anything, the Local should brag about the high number of users (inflated as they could be) to it's potential customers.

Seriously, all this talk of a "one way strreet" is silly. If you delete your account and reregister then that is NOT a dupe account, and not against the rules. In fact I see nothing about deleting your account fully and then reregistering which would be in any way against the rule of the forum.

When I read an agreement online I can click "agree" or "don't agree / cancel". And then later, when I change my mind, or have further time to read it, I can run the program again (or go back to the website, whatever) and accept the T&Cs.

I've read through the whole thread to try and get an answer to this, and maybe it's just my weary eyes, but I haven't found one. All this talk about not being able to register a duplicate account... what if my OH wanted his own account? He wouldn't be able to post from our home?
EDIT: God, I'm such a tired thicky. I suppose he could register at work and still be able to post from home.

Someone else said this before, the move from a fluffy bunny forum kept up by donations to bog-standard "we want to make loadsamoney off you and don't really care how, like everybody else" takes some time to digest.
