Re: Need some simple clarification on why I was banned from any decent mod.

Leaping to the OP's defence, I'm sure I've used the C word in some form or another many times without being banned.
Then again, I am f ucking brill.

If you mean it then I take your word.
You seem to be under the impression I give a damn.

You are wrong.

None of which applied in my case.
I think it did. A poster is almost never banned based on one single post. Even an obvious eyesore is usually taken as a one-off. So what seems to be a ban based on one post, was a careful read through of your posting history and general following of netiquette.

Don't be hurt (and, check the web link I posted for font size, etc.).

Could someone tells this naive, sweet non-english native lady here what the word means?
It's an anatomical term. It also happens to be the single most offensive word in the English language.

Guys, we are being awfully judgmental here. It's fair to say that we don't understand the cultural context, the milieu of the society from where OP is coming. Maybe we should all spend some time there before we "cast the first stone" so to say...

Thanks Oca (Teacher),

Now that I know this, I am very confused on how this is an offensive word.

If that's an attempt at a derail, it's poor. Google it, although the results won't be too funny.

Let's say it's a bit like the "pussy" (not lolcat) Americans use although a lot more offensive.

Get back to sweeping the kitchen floor. All that paella isn't going to move itself <sigh>

can I throw a .. hey surprise... off topic story in here
..
mrs and her girlfriends were on holiday in Malia ( crete ) years back and a guy they met kept referring to another guy as the C word ... they told him it was very impolite given the company so he switched to saying "that guy is a real womans willie"

mrs. G still uses that instead of C

Again, the ban wasn't for just this one post. People are rarely ever banned for one post around here (unless it's spam, of course).

...but since you asked, the word is the nastiest term there is for lady bits. In American English it is (by extension) an extremely rude word to call a lady; in British and Irish English it is an extremely rude word to call a man. Make of that what you will

edit: DB and several others beat me to it. I need some tea....

Dutch insults just don't work in English do they? Did you not teach the misses the "W" word.

Constant amusement that one when Americans get it wrong.

It isn't an attempt, I am not playing in that field. I want to understand the word so why the ban.

But let me tell you where I'll put my sweeping tool if I put my hands on you! And no Paella for you.

Re: Need some simple clarification on why I was banned from any decent mod.

Slightly O.T. (but apparently the offensive words thread was removed?)

Is this an "English thing"? While the c-word is certainly not for polite company where I come from (USA South), the most serious thing you can do there is say g.d. It's so unspeakable that I dare not write it here to avoid lightning bolts.
