Need some simple clarification on why I was banned from any decent mod.

I was banned for last one week for God knows what reason. The ban message when I tried to log in last week was that I tested the limit of the forum and that I should not do it again. That is all nice but I have no idea what I did to test the limit of the forum So if I am not sure what I did then how would I know if I am doing it again? I definitely have not done anything that other unbanned posters don't do.

My understanding is that mod Economisto was the one who banned me. So putting one and one together I assume it had something to do with the religion thread? If yes then Economisto why did you start a silly religion thread if you and your chums could not handle opposing views?

Same goes for forum legend Douglas Breakfast who sent me red card with a message obviously meant to wind me up. It's not for me to post his message but I will post the message I wrote to him in return-

Few minutes after sending that reply I got banned. Coincidence? It's good if some of you know each other, are smashing mates and love scratching each others back but for ffs did I really do anything ban worthy? Are people really so insecure that they get others banned? Very weak behaviour! Was expecting better.

P.S- I have had no warning or any private run ins with any mod or member up to this point so the ban was even more below the belt from my point of view.

Thanks. I don't know how to delete the thread. Secondly if this really gets me banned then frankly I would not want to be part of such a forum anyway.

Do you remember your post that got deleted on the "offensive words" thread? I'm not going to repost it as it was rather gratuitously offensive, but I'm sure you can remember what you wrote. That, and a general pattern of trolling across other threads, earned you a week's 'vacation'. Keep it up and the next one will be longer.

I'll give you a tip. This place isn't a democracy. Some things you write here can go unnoticed, others blow up into universal proportions based on egos, self-gratification or mood swings. When you're good, you're good, when you're bad, you'll feel the wrath of the masses. It's good to keep your outbursts clear, factual and concise.

The thread was about offensive words and other people also used offensive words on that thread and I don't remember them getting banned. I was making a point that the word I used was actually offensive and not the word that OP was complaining about.

Even then you could have warned me? Banning me few days after using that word in an "offensive words" thread makes no sense. Please I think you are looking for excuses to protect someone.

Often we do, particularly if we suspect the person may not realize he or she has overstepped the line. This particular case was pretty flagrant though.

You could say that - but you'd be wrong. You asked why you'd been banned, I told you. If I really wanted to 'protect' anyone why wouldn't I just delete the thread?

There is nobody for me to 'protect' as your ban had nothing to do with anyone else. I'm responding on behalf of the mod team as I'm the mod who was online and got here first. That is all.
