Please indicate where my comments were not constructive, or where I have expressed anger, or made a dramatic departure. You are insinuating that these actions are associated with me. You are deflecting.
Police states do not necessarily require that you stay (though many do restrict movement). But again I refocus that my comment was that similar strategies have been used in recent days. Not that EF is a police state. Please distinguish between these two.
It's not polite to tell a member that her comments on a serious concern are making you laugh. You should know better. | Quote: | | | | | Absolutely. I think that I properly contextualized the situation in my comments last night. I said that the stakes involved were very, very different in a police state and an online forum. I commented, however, that there was an eerie parallel in strategies. Restriction of speech, public shamings, hushing or dismissing dissent.
So, is it the "musing" of the moderation staff that we should not complain because the stakes are low here? | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | I wouldn't jump on the bait, UM. Dramatic analogies might look effective, but people who lived it will disagree..that's life.
Complains are one thing, positive suggestions on improving a community one feels part of, is another. I've seen a lot of anger and dramatic departures, but not many constructive offers.
Police state where people are restricted to having to stay and obey, is a tad different from voluntary membership platform, that has owners and housekeepers who are obliged to stick to certain grid of rules and who actually just gave more freedom to the members than ever before in terms of official self catapulting flounce...
This is really making me laugh. Especially with the "Terms&Conditions" references not only here but also elsewhere . | | | | | |

Am I glad I am no longer a mod on here
How many days now has this been going on? so many people on here needing to have the last word and needing to keep dredging this up
Guys there is a new forum now as everyone knows. If you are happier on there then quit whingeing on here. If you are happy on here and are annoyed at the new forum stay here - if like me you are happy to be involved in both (without the drama and slanging matches between friends) then read both
