Feeling a little sad this morning....

....about what is going on here.

I don't want to debate the why's and the wherefore's - thats being done elsewhere....but I'd like to propose a solution. (I know that complaining without purpose appears en-vogue at the moment...Greece, Wall Street, here, but I don't feel right just standing by and watching us destroy something great)

This is the biggest and best ex-pat forum in Switzerland. It will remain so. It goes beyond mutual support and has made lifelong friendships for those of you not living in the mountains like I do.

T&C changes will not change that and they are purely to provide protection for the people that host it. Fair enough. They weren't communicated well, they admitted that. I didn't get an email from Apple about the 44 pages of German T&Cs they sent me yesterday either, but I'm not going to sell my iPad about it. Nor will I read them.

Another forum has been set up which I think may serve another purpose. Some of us may choose to post on there too. Not as an act of disloyalty, but to stay in touch with those who feel that they don't want to stay here, but who have useful things to say.

There is now OFFICIALLY nothing more to say on the matter that will change any facts or turn back time.

I propose that the mods just stop allowing the discussion on any of it for a period of three or four days to allow a cooling off period. Just delete it.

I know people will shout "censorship", but we are sucking the life out of the place at the moment and it will take the soul away. We are making mountains out of molehills and destroying something important and special.

What's done is done and we can't change it.

Please....lets start discussing what this was created to discuss and get our heads out of our collective cavities.

Please

I agree with the sentiment, not sure mods implementing a cooling-off period is the way forward. If we all just stop posting drama won't it have the same effect?

Get over it. This drama happens about once every year (Dervaish anyone?).

It's a nice day, close the computer and take a walk outside - problem solved.

Cheer up honey, you are just having a blue day. We all have our blue days, but we need to try to make the best we can with our lives. We need to be grateful for the opportunity life gives us of living one more day, and we need to try to live it to the fullest. Smile! Have a wonderful day!

...not really.

You've got some peeps watching the buskers and the rest are doing their strolling and shopping.

No, but he'll probably think about getting a life.

So did I!!!

I said last Thursday - that in 7 days time there would be a Thursday. And you know what - BANG - it happened - miracle. Today, 7 days after the last Thursday, it is Thursday again.

Scary moment I can tell you

Re: Feeling a little sad this morning....

with this new trend. i'm also thinking of starting my own forum.

i think i will call it efDramaForum.ch T&Cs will change weekly and we'll have a monthly surprise mod eviction, so that you can enjoy this kind of drama everyday!

it will make money by collecting royalties on LOLcats.

good business plan?
