editing thread title??

Hi,
Instead of starting a new thread, I'd like to edit my thread title... Is this not possible?
Apparently the apt. I listed for rent is a 4.5 pcs. It seems the dining/living is only counted as one. urgh!
Sound I make a new thread?

I assume you also want to edit the thread title of this thread?

Re: editting thread title??

I think it works by editing the post, then going to advanced options or sumpthn like that.

Probably! But this one is not so important. I'm afraid a whole missing room in an apartment could be more important!
I think I'll use this one as a test....

Done!

Re: editing thread title??

Could someone explain this in more detail, please?

I notice some people add "[Sorry, it's sold]" in front of the thread in the ForSale forum. I want to do this too because people are contacting me for stuff that's long been taken.

If I go to "Go Advanced", there is a "Title" edit box (second box from top after "Reason..."). This only changes the title of the first posting, it does not change the main Title that appears when listed in a forum, and this is what I need to do!

You can also PM the mods for the section (myself and Gooner) to close the thread.

Re: editing thread title??

Thanks, but that can over time become a bother and I don't want to be a nuisance to the admins.

If someone can just explain how to do it correctly, I'd be much obliged.

Re: editing thread title??

It's a right users don't have. Use the Report Post symbol or state in the thread that the goods are sold, and you won't even have to write a PM.

Just a suggestion...Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to give users the right to delete posts only in sections where a post becomes dated, such as in the for sale/wanted section? I don't know if this is too complex. This is the one thing I find annoying....yes, I go in and edit my posts where an item is sold...I would be happier to delete the post altogether. What do we need all this history in the forum for?
