Million or mother-in-law?

Now I'm picturing you as a nutty professor in a lab cloning people's mil's (although I can't for the life of me think why anyone would want more than one!?)

I create a thread, My name is on the OP for ALL to see. If Mod X closes/deletes/moves a thread, it can be done without even the email notification.
False.

Whenever a thread is closed/deleted/moved an automated email notification is then sent to the original poster (OP) of the thread informing him/her of the Mods action. Mods do not have the ability to side-step this process.

Mod X (as to not pinpoint and make it like it's some sort of fault put on any) can do the same, plus close threads, and post after closing.
Due to nature of our houskeeping job, there will be things we will be allowed to do while members aren't. It's not anything we would feel big about, really, like having the ability to post after thread has been shut - I think mostly practical reasons, since we would have to make yet another thread and explain there, which is pointless when you simply have to jot a few lines down, why things got done, etc.

You used to love hopping in and trying to catch the last try before the thread closed, what happened?

Quote:
Furthermore, members put their name on their actions on this forum. I create a thread, My name is on the OP for ALL to see. If Mod X closes/deletes/moves a thread, it can be done without even the email notification. The action of the Mod is therefore not visible to the forum.
You cannot really complain in one post about mods having the last say and posting after the shut down as you see it in the power struggle ways, and then nail them for not talking and explaining who did what and why.

I principally agree with you, if there is something we all should be doing better it is more communication, if only for members who have the rules figured out and get disappointed when the reasons don't get announced, when they cannot check if that is the rule that was applied, etc. To answer every single PM and reported post, though, could be difficult, at times. If I cannot answer, as I did recently with Helm's request, since I was uber busy and at work and had no idea when I would be able to tend to her need, I make sure to manage to moved it onto a colleague who answers.

We either post (I do in 99%, and if I don't that's coz I gotta either run to a class, my PC/wifi bugged which was far too often lately, or have urgent situ) to let people know, or we don't when threads get closed etc. because of lack of time or whatever other reasons, some might think it is obvious for our members. Most online modding is actually an emergency situ, since things happen with the speed of one click. Mostly it gets processed afterwards, just like any other administrative stuff elsewhere, sometimes we probably trust the members to trust us and cope.

Majority of members know why things get modded, in fact we have a few members who suggest, self mod, mod others to help out. A simple PM to a mod for explanation is usually a guarantee for having things answered.

Now, I also feel that the resistance of some to over explain or own up to mod moves might stem from the past when mods and other admin were subjected to a lot of public abuse. So, might have something to do with it, who knows. There is quite a bit of menace going on which comes with our role, for realz. I know I play a ditzy blonde at times to not absorb it, and stay away from petty things, assumed power and privileges that we are far too busy to even register..

It's an inequal situation, and that's why I am pointing it out.
There are restrictions and privileges on each side.

I laughed hard at mimi's little post at my work desk, since it was a peculiar and hilarious situ a while ago..Now, I would love to thank her for it, but wait, I can't since my thank will be most probably misinterpreted as a voice of mod, that I might not like the dude she is talking to and will go after him..

Eh, screw it, I thanked her anyways...

He has done very well in serving some of his purposes in this regard

We can look to the terms of the pre nup before ruling out a complete deal break, plus a meeting with mother in law is required, as this always a good parameter to determine how daughter (you) will develop in later years. If we are on grounds of MILF territory, then the omens are good.

This is fine, but my queries posed were valid. Bad reps for groans, etc etc etc

There appears no EF law in place for this behaviour, which is equally as tit for tat as you put it.
Well Sweety pie, I had that complain once too. You groan and you get bad rep for it and/ or groan fest. The answer I received from a mod was in those lines:

If you Groan or bad rep, you call for it.

So it is aloud to groan and thank but not to groan fest. You can also good rep or bad rep but not tit for tat rep. If you use those features in good manner but piss off someone and that someone take revenge, rarely something will be done about it since it is your own fault...

Nice eh?

Wrath.

Guys, stay civil. Nil, report tit for tat repping if you haven't done so, which means multiple times (not 2, and I only see 1 exchange of neg rep so far in this thread) and beware that telling somebody he is lame and full of shit and other personal stuff might actually point fingers your way, too.

Stay civil, please. This thread has been bestest, so let's keep him.
