Dear Mods,

While I might agree that the complain about the inconsitencies turn south and rather nasty. I think it is also a lack of Etiquette to post on a closed thread without allowing the OP the same right.


Please do take note.

I was thinking exactly that... It was interesting that two mods felt it necessary to post on a thread that a third mod had previously closed.

But as Longbyt said, they are just human ( but with privileges )

Not really but it was a long post and I made a muck up of the quoting when I split a quote and had to correct it. I rarely write and send off a post very quickly if it is something I want to be understood as I meant it to be understood..

Edit: ...and of course, I always have EF open in several windows, so if I see a PM come in, I check that out and might reply, leaving the other stuff for the time being. Can't remember if it happened here or not but I agree that 11 minutes is a very long time for me to take to write one post.

Basically you could have 2 or 3 mods posting at same time as where one has decided on a thread closure, and as we are able to post in locked threads it can happen that there end up being 2 or 3 mod responses after the thread was locked by accident. This is what happened here.

Mods don't post in locked threads deliberately unless there are very good grounds.

We've stopped taking bets on that...It's a fix...we got a huge a number of bets from an Editorbob....go figure

It's a public forum. That's the only right that remains unless banned. If you publicly leave an open question (even in rethorical form) you should allow the person in question to reply.

It's in the same venue as closing a thread and not publicly stating who did it. It's an unfair use of privileges.

Im on my quota so I can't post as often as I wish.

2/3 mods at the same time, while 30 mins nobody came.. it can happen, I'm not saying it can't.

Normally I wouldn't post to an already closed thread but since we do have the power to do so it can happen that one Mod closed the thread while two others were (slowly) still typing.
