Forum Notifications ( automated )

Several times over the past few months I have had posts deleted and/or threads moved ( boo -effin- hoo right? ) but have not received any notifcation of these actions from our Mod team.

so in light of recent discussions I'm wondering... if there a rule regarding notication by mods of their actions or is this simply one of those "open to interpretation" items.

now... who could have moved my Cottage for hire in Cornwall thread.. last updated nearly a year ago.. without having the common courtesy to tell me?

The thread I created abuot the offers by the local was moved and moved back too. I only received 1 notification.

does anyone know a good system debugger they could get in?

or maybe just a good PR spokesman

indirectly my fault your cottage thread getting moved it would seem..

You should always receive the notification, but if a mod does the move fast, the message might not include the reason.

Like yesterday, when I closed the thread that got trashy with offensive posts, more over posted a warning in the thread a few mins before, the reason for closure was obvious even without writing in the automated message.

Closing a thread, the system automatically informs the OP, we do not click on anything. If members do not receive the automated message, then we have a bug.

Always inform us of this, please, so we can move it up and have things fixed and adjusted.

I have had my threads moved as well, without receiving a notification, which means it probably bugs, but it was a few months back, might be bugging again.

I will make a note of this in admin cue.

You should receive 2 PMs informing you of each of the moves.

I appreciate your effort. In good will I accept that there is no option to not notify.
Without sounding conspiracy-like. How would we know that you just decided to DO notify?

There is no such thing as not notify...It's a feature automatically attached.

why would you want to receive a stream of notifications anyway?

Out of curiosity I just moved this thread (again) to Off Topic to see if grynch receives the automated notice. I'll move it back after he reports back (unless his Inbox is now overflowing with EF reports).

slaphead... yes I received notification from you.. twice.. and now from Vwild once.. but still nothing re. my "cottage for hire"...can you view who moved that and or why no notification went out?

and regardless of the system working sometimes..( as proven right now ) it apparently does not work all the time..hence my valid recommendation for a system debug

Ive already treid contacting the admins using the contact us link, but nothing has been done about it.

My account keeps indicating there is 1 unread message in my inbox, even though there is none there...

When moving, deleting, editing etc there are no options to not notify the owner of the thread or post.

The one instance where people will not be notified are those that have commented on a thread that's been moved or deleted. In that instance only the OP will be notified.

Check your visitor messages, or it could be a friend request.

To quell the conspiracy theorists see the following screen shot. As you can see, we have no option to send or not to send a notification. Once we click on Move Thread the notices are automatically sent.
