How does one become a Member of a (Social) Group?

Hello,
I can't seem to find the answer to my question above anywhere around the forum, nor figure it out for myself . I've figured out how to subscribe to a group, but that doesn't seem to make me a member of it; what's the difference? Is it another one of those "privileges" that's not open to "Newbies"? Please advise!

Which social group? Some may be closed, invitation only groups which could explain this.

To be honest I don't think much happens with these groups anyway. The last time the forum was upgraded they were a "new toy", but I don't think they are that active these days. I may be wrong though.

The "Let's All Slag Off a Mod" group is still very popular.

Anyway. To answer the question.

If you go into a group, towards the top right corner there is a (small) link to "Join Group". This should make you a member.

Thanks for the info. I was interested in Zürich Life, for instance, or THE CREATIVE TEAM... How can one tell if a group is close/invitation-only?

There it will ask you if it's a free-for-all or invitation.

Thanks for the info & screen-captures, but it seems I'm too new or something; I don't see the Join Group link:

Re: How does one become a Member of a (Social) Group?

Then it most likely is a noob Thing. 10 post and at least a week of being here (which you are).

No big thing really happens in those, they never actually picked up.

You were trying to join "EF Sex Gods" weren't you? :P
