Tip: How to build a table into your posts

I've had a couple of questions from people about how to create tables in their messages. By default HTML code is blocked for security reasons, so tables don't really work so well.

So what if you wanted to post some information in a table format? The good news is that I've installed a modification to make this possible. All you have to do is use the new
tag like this:
head col1|head col2|head col3 row1 col1|row1 col2|row1 col3 row2 col1|row2 col2|row2 col3
You will notice that the columns are separated by the | character and rows are separated by new lines. The optional keyword "head" makes the first row into a heading (different colour). The result looks like this:
head col1|head col2|head col3
row1 col1|row1 col2|row1 col3
row2 col1|row2 col2|row2 col3
If you'd like to go beyond making a simple table and explore some of the extra features available please consult the information provided by the author of this modification at this link [vbulletin.org]. I'm happy to help with some technical points, but you should realise that to use this feature you may have to invest a little bit of reading and experimentation on your own. Hint: use the preview function before posting your message!
