How is Membership status determined?

So glancing through the forum I've noticed the following membership status descriptions: Newbie, my status, Junior Member, Forum Veteran, Forum Legend, etc. Tried to search for some explanation but couldn't find anything. So can someone explain this for me?

Monthly donations to the mods.

Or if that doesn't work, the more you post, the higher your status.

Re: How is Membership status determined?

A quick glance is never enough to find stuff on here. Settle down when you have half an hour, a cup of coffee and a cream doughnut.

First, check out the bit where it says Please check this Thread. Your question may already have been covered.

The bit you need is the 'Anatomy of a Post: all those buttons and links, explained ' by 22 yards.

(I must confess that I'm cheating a bit here - I've only just added the list of status levels to the first post in 22 yards' excellent Thread - I wasn't sure where the information was either, but I've obviously had a lot more practice at at searching)

I've heard some of the mods will do this for beer.
