I presume he meant that the referee should not be noticed if the players stick to the rules.
If there is an accusation of impropriety on the part pf the OP, please just spit it out. I would like to know the content of the PM because I have recently exchanged PMs with the same mod on precisely the same subject and it's quite disturbing.

Re: An EF Moderator!

Well, I am a Newbie on this forum so I do not know all the rules but as I understood the only actions taken by the moderator were moving the thread to another place and editing the YouTube link. I think that's OK to make such minor corrections. I would not think too much it about it and simply continue posting on this forum.

Re: An EF Moderator!

Mods know (or can find out) your IP address. I thought this was pretty well known.

As a mod of another vbulletin forum, I can tell you that it's possible they can change your picture, edit reputation comments, change what you've written...

In the meantime, they clear out trolls, trouble makers and spammers, fend off posts that could result in legal action against the forum and posters, occasionally get threatened (or is that just me?) and general keep things tidy. When doing this, they may inadvertently (or even deliberately) annoy someone.

Seems a price worth paying. In fact, I herewith quadruple my subscription payments...

I've found that cultural background play a big part as well. There's one particular section of humanity I've found that take any form of correction as a direct attack, having not learned that offence inferred is not offence intended.

I think it's OK to know...the implication of the OP goes beyond knowing and more "showings off" - I know where you're posting from, don't mess with me in this unrelated matter. It's a teeny bit like seeing your family doctor at church and he's asking you "how are those warts doing"....it's creepy.

Re: An EF Moderator!

Maybe (obviously I'm guessing, but I want to be a player) IP addresses and locations were mentioned to explain why the mod thought the first post may have been spam.

I can just praise this mod. I had my share with some mods that I like or not, but this one has always been a real gentleman and has been nice to me since I joined this forum.

Re: An EF Moderator!

Thanks to all the replies, some are really impressive, fair and appreciated.. some were hmm ..... , let me say some were having the umbrella effect.

I think one should have waited before opening this thread, so the message was not going to be full of emotions and drama as it was, I agree it is not a big deal, moderator did his job in the way it should be done - but possibly a conflict came in due to different attitudes and culture, we are all learning in this life - but I really believe I was neutral in telling the story without exageration, and yes IP Tracking was not doing anything that makes sense in the message it was used within.

I apologize if I took some of your valuable time here, and I apprecaite your contribution.

I suggest to close this thread unless jrspet needs to add a comment before closing it,

P.s After I read one post here, I need to open a new thread and call it An EF Umbrella!
