How people behave towards each other on this forum

Since a previous thread got off-topic and "discussion" shifted towards an angry discussion about behaviour and the way people argue on this forum, how about moving the discussion here?

Just to be clear: I am not trying to make befriend the angry bikers, I don't care about that.

So how about I tell you my point:

- I express my opinion on an article and I am called a hypocrit. I get angry and in a matetr of a few angry posts I go from a few green EF-Dots to a lot of red dots.

- And one more question: is there some filter which one can set to filter only the "out-of context" parts of other people's post that fits one and filter-out parts that are inconvenient? Some people here seem to be using something like this quite often.

Motto of the thread: let's argue here and not get other threads off-topic

excuse me, shit for brains, but I see I received a red dot from you without giving you one. You are no angel.

Never mind, I've rectified that situation.

Ought we change the title to "How people behave towards each other online"?

My advice: deep breath, log off, come back chillaxed.

Re: about this forum

Point 1: I don't see a problem. You were angry and many posters didn't like your attitude, consequently, you are now the beholder of red blobs. That's how it works here.

Point 2: You can use the ignore option. You can ignore individual members or individual threads.

If your blobs are important to you, you'll find posting in an amicable way will eventually lead you to greener pastures.

Re: about this forum

Seriously, I really don't get it why people get so hung up on thanks/groans or reds/greens. It really well doesn't matter.
Then again, my rep and number of thanks just show what a truly brilliant, witty, helpful and unashamedly superior chap I really am. Humble too.

Is this a 5 minute argument or the full half hour?

5 minutes. After that, I'll just tell him he's right and send him outside to play with the other children.

Thank you, I believe you did me a great favour in convincing me finally thatmost forum veterans here are just a bunch of xxxx with whom it is justimpossible to have a normal conversation.
and that I should not waste any more time on this forum. I will let you do that.
I mean what kind of person has all that time and nothing better to do thanpost every day in each and every subject???
Even the fact that you consider me opening this thread a rant proves you areunable to have a civilised discussion.
You built you're little empire that plays by your rules, ENJOY IT. I willget back to the real world now with normal people behaving like adults.
End of my RANT (if you wish).

It's a substitute for a naughty word. He doesn't want to type the real thing because he's afraid people might not like him.
