Maybe we can ask The Local to create duplicate threads for all contentious issues that have recently been closed.
And whilst they're at it, could we have a generous donation for the starving victims of the Southern Sudanese conflict?

Do you think they even bother looking here, before they post - they're just trying to promote their own agenda and "publication".
No, really? I thought it was a remarried member from the band The The, writing up her personal experiences here. Next you'll be telling me it's just an automated posting done to push headlines from their own online news publications.

If it's really grinding your gears LiB, just go to "control panel" and then, on the left hand side, select "edit options" under "Settings and Options". Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and then you'll find a section where you can exclude certain forums (i.e. "Swiss News via the Local") from "New Posts" & "Today's Posts".

By the way, the mods have no control whatsoever about what gets posted in that area, so don't have a go at us about it.
To say you're just obeying orders is an easy defence. Alternatively you could mention to whoever it is that controls these things that they are intensely disliked. I don't think anybody intentionally wants a rubbish forum, and if they get enough complaints they may re-think. But as long as they don't know, nothing is going to happen, innit?

Can we do a poll on why the local was removed from the bottom of the users reputation list?????

Or would it just be deleted/locked just like all the other times i asked?

cheers

......The Local then opened another one, which the mods are - one assumes - powerless to close.
SC - perhaps that's your answer. Just post your question in one of The Local's threads and they won't be able to close it!

If it works I'll ask what's been done about a certain data gathering mods database as well

LI may I suggest to you, put up the dough and buy the local from the local. Then you can do what the hell you want to do with the local
Altenatively lets just petition the advertisers who payroll The Local that what they're paying for is a miserable heap of cr*p and ask them to stop.

I guess they do care that their money is just going down the drain.

And then The Local can go and sulk in a corner and work out what they did wrong and maybe start again, but properly this time, and listening to its supposed readers.

Honestly I don't care who posts what, I just don't read what I'm not interested in. And about all that The Local bashing going on - I'm grateful they provide this forum for free for us to use, so I guess some The Local article posting and advertising are tolerable.

How much do I need to pay the owners of this forum to be able to have the right to start duplicate threads that the mods can't close?

It might be useful sometimes. Maybe some of us could pool some cash and have some fun?

I agree to some extend. When The Local use some shocking headlines on specifics groups it gets pretty annoying. Especially when made on the only purpose to get traffic and visibility from provocative headlines and at the expenses of some members of this forum who are part of these groups.

But I agree, who cares. At the end of the day, it is The Local who looks ridiculous.

We've tried that tactic. They just delete the OT stuff and leave the thread open.

Surprise, surprise spineless porsch wifeofporsch voted no.
I've noticed you posted some digs at my husband in the past and I've ignored them. But this time it has gone over the top. I will post this once and once only :

This is my account and my account only.

Please stop making cheap digs at my husband when he isn't here to defend himself. Its rude, cowardly and it upsets me. He has moved on and so should you.

I've sent a link to the post to 'porsch' and he says he's sent you a message on facebook regarding it but I'd like to say my piece.

Thanks

You're right wifeofporsch,
it's not nice that I keep doing that. See, but it's sort of like before you joined this forum to sell your artsy stuff and to comment on forumla 1 and htc threads....porsch joined the other forum, became a mod and kept on taking cheap jabs at the EF from within, before making a grand flounce. I do embrace loyalty...especially to somebody or something (in this case) that has provided me and many other people with oportunities, joy, cries and laughter and I do not appreciate the way he behaved prior to his departure...thus my cheap jabs at him. Regardless, I do not wish to insult anybody on purpose and therefore, I will try to refrain from further mentioning him. Hope this clarifies my stance.
