Closing Threads

I see that the amusing, harmless and entertaining thread about Swiss nicknames got closed down in full flow and I think this was rather a harsh decision.

I want to register my protest at this!

Otherwise I like the EF and I have no complaints.

cheers MG

Re: Closing Threads

I see that a thread started by The Local about Muslims schoolgirls and swimming lessons got closed down.

Was this an error?
Weren't we previously told that thraeds started by The Local cannot be closed down?

Or is this a sign that the mods are finally waking up and we'll see these threads being closed more regularly in future?

Re: Closing Threads

Meh, the nicknames (diminuitive names) thread had really run its course and was just winding up into a free for all mud slinging match. Not that that is really a bad thing always, but I was actually waiting to see when it would get closed and was surprised it was open for comment as long as it was.

My only complaint on that score was my absolutely brilliant post got denied because the close happened while I was writing my reply!

Ahh well. Someone else say something inflammatory.

So you really don't know how to protest nowadays?

1. Make a movie about the subject and call it for example "The Lolcal 2012", put it on Youtube

2. Sell kits including T-Shirts, stickers, buttons, posters, bracelets and an "action guide"

3. Earn a lot of money a don't care anymore about the actual problem

You forgot to mention step 4.
Get caught exposing yourself in public (more than exposing, but it is a family forum after all)

The latest episode of South Park covers this deliciously: http://www.southparkstudios.com/full...05-butterballs

Warning, South Park humour is considered offensive by many small close minds and "cartoons are for children" types
