Fixing rep?

I gave the wrong rep (positive rather than negative) to one person, and sent rep another time to the totally wrong person, how can I fix it?

Re: Fixing rep?

You can't, if I am correct. Only mods can do that but until now, they didn't share this power to public humble us, mere people.

Re: Fixing rep?

I gave negative instead of positive rep once way back and one of the lovely mods fixed it. If they don't see this then send a PM directly to your favorite or least favorite mod.

PS, don't know about giving rep to the wrong person. I hope it wasn't me. Don't take my points away! They were hard won.

I would suggest that you use the Report Post icon to request that the moderators change the rep on one post and remove it on the other.

In spite of the text in the Report Post form, we are encouraged to use it as a general purpose means of communicating with moderators about individual posts.

Tom
I once whacked someone with negative rep by mistake (I was new to a trackpad on the laptop and a bit ham-fisted) so just had to PM them and apologise. Fortunately the neg rep was accompanied with a nice positive comment so it was obvious that I'd had a bimbo moment.

Re: Fixing rep?

Yeah, I once accidentally gave someone positive rep (instead of negative). And I felt like an ass afterward -- especially after accusing THEM of being an idiot in the accompanying message.

Lesson learned about being too "quick on the draw."

Re: Fixing rep?

Neg rep is a badge of honour...wear it with pride especially when unintentional

I've had people do that to me before and TBH who really cares....apart from mirfield and lib

I did this last week - well, the opposite, actually, negging someone I meant to pos, and the mods said they couldn't do anything about it, although I know that as little as a couple of months ago they were able to fix it when someone did the same to me, so maybe it's policy, not the software, that limits this.
