Thread deletion

How come in the past I
asked for a thread to be deleted the Mods have come back to me and said they can close it but not delete it. However I put a thread on tonight entillted "how to" light hearted question of how to open a bottle of wine. Created some light hearted banter but a thick northern mod for some reason decided to delete it?????

It is the law of the unexpected, Mrs Murphy's law: everything that goes wrong is Mr Murphy's fault.

It is very inconsistent. Some deleted threads get moved to Trash and others, like yours, disappear completely Meanwhile, some just get closed and left in their original forum.

I doubt if there is anything sinister about it: just mods interpreting things differently

Re: Thread deletion

They should make me a mod!

I'd be very consistent and delete entire threads regardless of content and posters, based on a mathematical series that I won't share.

Re: Thread deletion

Phew, everyone's on about mods on this here forum! So many mods or people contemplating becoming mods! I thought they're a subculture that's nearly extinct?!?
Strange you never see them about on the streets riding scooters and all...
they must be living in some subterranean netherworld, only coming out at night. Spooky. I'm puzzled!

Re: Thread deletion

A number of years ago I did my part and help to moderate a large and quite active forum with a group of good level-headed people. The tasks involved usually very time consuming and decisions made not easy to understand by all. As much fun as it can be to ride a moderator (by name) about a decision made, remember that usually the decision is not made by just one alone. Support the "spooky" moderators where possible... if you don't agree, you can/will bring it up, that is OK! It supports your complaint if you bring it up with tact and understanding (if even a little ).

Mods are like women. They've got good reasons for their actions even if men refuse to believe it.

Yes, they are nearly extinct and certainly spooky. Some more than others.

A scooter would be nice, though..
