What are the rules here?

Having received a lot of red theses last few days, I reviews my threads and notice a patten where a lot of posters would kinda edit my quotes, just like a newspaper or reporter would do.

They quote the bits were I spank the knockers but leave out the bits were I thank all the posters on this board that are supporting.

This patten by a few members is repeated in most of my threads.

So what are the rules here can you quote half the story the bad half and leave the good half out?

This is really quite sad as a person in a hurry scanning only the last replies and not having time to read the whole thread would really get a different picture of the story.

Have a good weekend
Have to start preparing for our house warming so

Re: What are the rules here?

When responding to a post, it is customary to quote only the pertinent part to which one wishes to respond.

As long as words are not changed (although they can be, for lulz, with the phrase "fixed that for you"), the trimming of quotes for this purpose is perfectly acceptable.

Do you mean that people change the words that you have written and show them as your own, or do you mean that people react to the things that you have written which they take offense at by requoting them in their reply?

I suspect you mean the latter. If so, if the original post where you quoted it remains (so others can see the context) and the quote isn't changed - I'm not sure what you are complaining about.

Re: What are the rules here?

If I quote a post I usually bolden the part that i am referring to, but if the quoted post is over long and full of rambling nonsense, as many of your are, I will edit out most of it, but never change your words. If anyone has changed your words in a quote you should report them.

As for getting red blobs lately, I'm surprise the mods haven't given you a holiday for your insults and general trolling.

VC, by now you will have realised one of the other unwritten rules on EF - it is deemed okay for certain members to ridicule others, usually newbies, whenever they feel like it, generally behind the anonymity of of their member names.

You appear to be this weeks target.

C'mon guys! This playground macho behaviour is getting a bit boring from all of you. Just drop it!

I have OP on ignore, he has not been offensive to me but I have read some posts about how he has threatened to be violent. Then it appears that he is complaining about people being bullies, but who is the real bully here? I do not have the answer but maybe the mods do?
What I do know is that OP has become extremely obnoxious and has created more threads than any newbie has ever done in such a short amount of time...I guess some people think that any PR is good PR...

Re: What are the rules here?

I think what looks like a community ganging up on a miember might actually be the fact that people here are sharp and realized that a particular behavior might be a biz strategy. Its not easy to take EF for a ride.

Im gonna chuck my htc outa window. Prof, your knockers spanking comment turned me off my plum tart, ew.

That's very reasonable and I applaud the sentiment - bash the new kid is never endearing.

But doesn't he lose the moral highground and the honeymoon period when he rubs people's nose in his wealth and offers to fight people for money?

Some of his attacking people as "sheep" and "brainwashed" one can put down to being defensive against the vast majority of people attacking his minority view - but I think that some of his behaviour must mean that he reaps what he sows, no?

Are many on this board kids ??

With all the winding about the Swiss and what not ,Jesus people you are guest of these people in their country, wake up or go home .....

I am not a tree hugging Vegan , but the proactive sort of Vegan who take no shit from anyone,we Aussies are raised that way

So please stop with all your stupid kids game and post some real threads with substance,

Painting me with red only fuels the fire
After reading that anyone could be forgiven for labelling the poster an ignorant lout, who reverts to teenager mentality and flings childish insults when he gets angry. But wait, lets try the sympathy vote... they are in fact the victim! The more you push the more I pull

Quote:
Bullies have always been nothing more than people with a very big chip on their shoulders.

My Swiss friends can not understand the sheer contempt of some Expats living here ( Yes they come here too)

I on the other hand refuse to bow to bullies, I take their best shot and keep walking straight.

I am a vegan but not the tree kissing kind,I have opinion and love a drink and will not shy away from my beliefs.

Give me a thousand red blotches from you living rooms, but it will never change who I am

I leave you with a quote from a famous doctor

If beef is your idea of "real food for real people" you'd better live real close to a real good hospital. ....Neal Barnard, M.D.
It all paints a different picture. In my opinion you're just an attention seeker who now posts incessantly, looking for the group sympathy vote every time he gets his knickers in a twist. You have also proven that you lack the capacity to back up the vast majority of the things you post about Veganism and health, despite claiming to be a chef to the celebrities who earns megabucks, thus presumably at the top of the food chain in your industry. You claim you don't have time to respond to peoples questions about the scientific theory of what you post about your business and livelihood (surely an area which you should be really making an effort to show your expertise, no?), and yet at the same time constantly post in other areas of the forum about things like your cat. I don't get it.

This is the internet, no-one here has a real 'problem' with you. I'm sure you are a nice guy in real-life who loves his cats and dogs etc etc etc... people are ONLY responding to the poor way you post, which started initially with preaching your lifestyle at people and making claims you couldn't back up, and finally descended into bragging about wealth and throwing insults at people. It is nothing personal, and there is no campaign being waged against you, so please don't take it as some kind of vendetta. Outside of this forum I assure you that I could not give the slightest hoot about you and don't spare it a second thought, and I would hope for your sake that the situation is the same from your side.

I think "newbie" refers to the point that he joined just last month...

Since then he's been posting like a fire hose shoots water...

To the OP, nothing against you or veganism... But the way you go about things here is just plain annoying. If people are ganging up on you, it is probably because they are collectively annoyed by you and your "I'm not here to promote my business, but come see my business," attitude. You've gotten yourself a negative reputation, and the only way you're gonna fix that is if you climb off your high horse, eat some Humble Pie, and back off a bit.

Nope. The mention of wealth sounded pretty straight to me, not bragging, not hiding it. It was in response to verbal abuse that he had already received from EF folk. However, it did seem to provoke more negative comments - perhaps jealousy? Or at least an appearance fo a wholde group of guys being rather stupidly macho and agro - whether with words or fists.

I stand by earlier comment of "get over it," to all concerned.
